CULTURE WARS

I'm trying to picture in my mind the expressions on the faces of some of the most outspoken critics of the Administration as they watched these demonstrations and heard the harrangues of the bellwethers of the chanting, marching sheep who milled around in mall, square, and field around the world, expressing their hatred of America, and most especially, of George Bush. No other man in public office has been so widely despised, hated, and reviled as our current President. Only a few could weather the abuse as nobly. But scarcely a word was spoken against Saddam Hussein: Not a sound about his weapons of mass destruction. I can see in my mind's eye the smug smirks of triumph and satisfied smiles of accomplishment on many a cold-hearted face in Washington.

Today, my son asked me why these demonstrators hated President Bush. "Where does it come from?" At the risk of having him think me a raving nutter, I pondered a while, then mentioned the Frankfurt School. I don't know why the name came to me, but, having heard just enough of the organization to be aware of their plans, wanted to learn more for myself, so I looked them up on the internet.

Marxists are well-established in colleges and universities all across the United States, entrenched since the arrival of the Frankfurt School. This is a given. They proudly proclaim their political position. There is satisfaction for these professors in the knowledge that most of the young people they turned into little Lefties were probably raised in God-fearing homes.

Today's Frankfurt School dependents are everywhere, and there is no need to be an expert on them to see their hand in the destruction of American culture. Anywhere you can look that isn't like it was in the good old days has probably been undermined by these dedicated Marxist operatives.

"The Frankfurt School would patent the familiar "Critical Theory" which was accurately defined by a student as the "essentially destructive criticism of all the main elements of Western culture, including Christianity, capitalism, authority, the family, patriarchy, hierarchy, morality, tradition, sexual restraint, loyalty, patriotism, nationalism, heredity, ethnocentrism, convention, and conservatism." Under Critical Theory, anything emanating from the west is to be libeled and attacked over and over again while at the same time, anything emerging from a "progressive" country or group is to be applauded including the murder of over 100 million people. All blame for societal and economic ills are to be shifted to the west...Members and front organizations must continually embarrass, discredit and degrade our critics. When obstructionists become too irritating, label them as fascist, or Nazi or anti-Semitic…The association will, after enough repetition, become ‘fact’ in the public mind."
-- Chuck Morse, 2002, ENTHRALLED BY CULTURAL MARXISM

Now, calling Democrats Marxists is inflammatory to say the least, but believe it or not, there are over fifty people in Congress today who call themselves Marxists.

In the late Sixties and early Seventies, things were very bad for America. Somehow we knew that our sons were going to have to go away to die in the war, and 60,000 of them did. We knew that something was wrong in Washington, and we knew that U.S. Generals were not being allowed to prosecute the war to total victory. In the middle of all this, Time magazine came out with a cover that said, in huge red letters, "Is God Dead?" It seemed like He was, for what was happening to American culture was surely a sign that He had abandoned us to our sinfulness and destruction.

The phrase, "Make love, not war" popped up everywhere. (Turns out, of course, that this phrase was coined by Herbert Marcuse, one of the "Four Horsemen" of the "Critical Theory" school.) Flower children rode around in apparently-vandalized buses and fumbled through life inside buzzing heads full of pot smoke, drifting from one stoned experience to the next. Believe it or not, the fashions of the day were just one more indicator of American culture taking leave of its senses. Excrable styles, platform shoes, hideous color combinations, and topless swimsuits stunned people with their tastelessness. These fashion abominations had a purpose. Ruffles on men, skin tight polyester shirts open to the navel, pants suits for women, skinny flat-chested models, all served to blur the line between the sexes and set the stage for the feminist revolution, the destruction of the nuclear family, and the defiance of lawful authority. Outcome-based education and abortion came along next. The plans were moving ahead quite nicely.

What we are seeing now is just a continuation of the assault on America. The subtle undermining of America's values has moved ahead as planned, and any comparison between today's culture and that of 1961 proves that even though these operatives were not working publicly, they were working--boring, grinding, nibbling away at laws and mores. "One at a time is good fishing," my mother-in-law used to say. One law, one moral standard, one artistic barrier at a time, and soon, art wasn't art unless it was horrifying and scatalogical. Music was "punk." Any fashion laws that might have remained after the early 70's were thrown out, as young people began wearing blue hair in 13" spikes, clothes from dumpsters, and big safety pins through their nostrils. Abortion on demand became the virtual sacrament of the Critical Theory professors, militant feminists, and Democrat politicians. It was more of a "third rail" than even Social Security, becoming the litmus test for any appointee to offices above mail clerk. They even infiltrated and attempted to take over the Roman Catholic Church in America, and almost succeeded, until the sex scandal in Boston opened the eyes of the Faithful and made them more discerning and resistant to the changes.

George W. Bush is not a politician. His integrity and his courage--his LEADERSHIP-- drive the Marxists and their toadies up the wall, and send the Democrats into rabid fits. And this time, the people are awake. We are learning the facts. The internet has given interested people from all countries, all walks of life, and all social and financial position access to incredible amounts of information on anything imaginable. The Free University of the Ether is open for us, and millions of freedom-loving people are spending hours surfing, debating, and questioning; challenging the forces bent on America's destruction. The free hand that the Marxists have had with American culture is beginning to slip.

Perhaps Rush Limbaugh had it right the other day: Maybe we are seeing the beginning of the end of the Marxist experiment. The demonstrations were quickly pegged for what they were by astute observers, and even though the mainstream press is still having a field day dragging soundbites out and rehashing all the demagoguery, the end of the influence of the Frankfurt School might be in sight. Thanks to the internet, thousands of people are able to find out what they want to know about influential movements, including "Critical Theory." Net surfers can find page after page of facts about the validity or the bogus-ness of this or that movement, think tank, or institute.

Perhaps the fury was a reaction to the knowledge that the jig is finally up for Communism.

This sums it up well. This is yet another opinion that expresses the ongoing crumbling of leftist positions. As long as a "critical mass" of thinking people have their eyes open, their ears tuned and their brains connected, it will continue. It is no understatement to say that our security and our culture depends upon it.

A few years ago, our evergreen tree that got eaten to death by our two pet goats in the 1970's, resurrected it's self and got big enough to start decorating with long strings of colorful Christmas tree lights.

Everyone around these parts loved the sight at night as it could be seen for over a mile. Then in the 1990's we had some hold-over hippies, still stuck in the 60's move in across the way and they had to spoil the whole scene with a huge, stark, all white "footprint of the American chicken!" (Peace At Any Price Symbol)

Not to be outdone, each year, as the tree grows taller (I think the tap root has broken into my septic tank), we put the lights higher and higher. This year, my first born son climbed up 40' high and put a huge white "Star of Bethlehem" at the very top!!!

I really don't know why that friggen piece symbol get me so pist, but it just looks Satanic to me with that up-side down cross with a broken cross-member. Even the star and cresent Muslim symbol doesn't make me as upset as these punks with that appeasement symbol.

I guess it's because in my mind, these idiots should know better. They are so danged oblivious to the obvious fact that there never has and never will be any possible moral equivalency between this righteous nation and any other on Earth!!!

I like the articles you post, Lando. I hope your Thanksgiving Day was as delightful as mine. Our home was filled with both family and dear friends of all age brackets. Mrs. Wasp even forced us all to play "Pit," the commodities trading game before she would serve us DESERT!!! Now THAT's AMERICAN, I'd say!!!

Have you ever, just once, gone over and added some color to the Giant Encircled Chicken Foot when the stoners crashed? To put up with their arrested development year after year seems mighty trying. Hang in there.

Thanks Waspman.....I'm thankful this day to call you FRirnd.

I agree with your assessment. I wish I could say to the appeasers and their ilk...."Let's think about this with no emotion for a moment. First, it is the USA's financial generator that keeps the world's economy charged. We lead the world in fantastic, remarkable scientific and medical achievement. With all its flaws, the US is based on equal protection under the law; civil order; freedom of thought, religion; speech; etc."

"Now, we have a bunch of truely evil people, who have never contributed to or developed anything for society who wish nothing less than our apocalyptic destruction. They will stop at nothing to achieve their aim and they will delight in using our own technology to accomplish our destruction. They wish to kill you, your family, your way of life. We can not appease them....to appease them is to surrender because they will not rest until we are dead - all of us. So you see, my dear idiot naive friend...we will not surrender. If that should mean that I or my very precious sons must confront that evil to destroy it, well, so be it. That is my heritage and it is this wonderfully free society's heritage. If we succeed, you can continue to sing love songs and smoke whatever it is that you smoke. If we fail, the best you can look forward to is life on your knees."

THAT is about what I would like to say to those types. So, my FRiend - I pray for your health and safety (and for your family) this Thanksgiving.

Lando (signing off for the nite!!)

No other man in public office has been so widely despised, hated, and reviled as our current President.

He interrupted their plans for us and this country, via Algore. This is why there was such a terrific fight with all the stops pulled out and utter disregard for the fact that anyone could see what they were up to in Florida in 2000.

Dubya cramped their style, and if we know what's good for us, we'll never allow another damned utopian into the White House again, and that goes double for Hillary!

I hated Clintoon enough for thousands of people.

P.S. Herbert Marcuse was (is) a flaming homosexual, in case anyone wants to know. AFAIK, he (was/is) an advocate of pederasty. If I'm wrong on that, someone correct me.

Exposed: Pelosi's Socialist Ties

Pelosi leader of 'Progressive Caucus'

From those links, these excerpts ...

"DSA/USA, the 'Democratic Socialists of America' are the U.S. arm of the Socialist International. They share the symbol of the fist holding the rose, and they share the tasks to be accomplished — in our case, an altogether different America ...

"Some time ago — the date is missing from the descriptions — 58 members of the U.S. House of Representatives formed a subdivision of the Democratic Socialists of America and called it the Progressive Caucus. Their statement of purpose, as well as their membership list, formed an integral part of the dsausa Web site (www.dsausa.org ). The membership list appeared on the screen with the continuous background of the fist holding the rose, should anyone have missed the connection with the Socialist International."

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., the likely [she is now] new minority leader in the House of Representatives, serves on the executive committee of the socialist-leaning Progressive Caucus, a bloc of about 60 votes or nearly 30 percent of the minority vote in the lower chamber.

The Democratic Socialists of America's chief organizing goal is to work within the Democratic Party and remove the stigma attached to "socialism" in the eyes of most Americans.

"Stress our Democratic Party strategy and electoral work," explains an organizing document of the DSA. "The Democratic Party is something the public understands, and association with it takes the edge off. Stressing our Democratic Party work will establish some distance from the radical subculture and help integrate you to the milieu of the young liberals."

"Freedom of enterprise was from the beginning not altogether a blessing. As the liberty to work or to starve, it spelled toil, insecurity, and fear for the vast majority of the population. If the individual were no longer compelled to prove himself on the market, as a free economic subject, the disappearance of this freedom would be one of the greatest achievements of civilization."

                                                                                                                      Herbert Marcuse (1898-1979)

The fact that Marcuse is hailed as a such a thinker and philosopher is mind boggling. You'll be hard pressed to find anything countering his asinine babblings. Those that fancy themselves the intellectual elite just lap up this sort of nonsense.

I read a book by Marcuse when I was a pseudo intellectual teenager. The less I understood, the more cool I thought it was. I also read Sartre and Huxley and crap. Really screwed me up for a while. Like taking enough poison to make you sick but not kill you. Especially when read young, when good judgement hasn't formed, or truthful or wise authors have not been read.
