Detractors of President Bush's clandestine trip to Iraq were quick to denounce it yesterday, asserting that the Bush administration had orchestrated the Thanksgiving dinner with U.S. troops for political gain.
"This is a president who has been unwilling to provide his presence to the families who have suffered, but thinks nothing of flying to Baghdad to use the troops there as a prop," said Joe Lockhart, former spokesman for President Clinton.

Whine, whine, whine. Cry, cry, cry. Sob, sob, sob. B*tch, b*tch, b*tch.
It isn't going to do a bit of good you lousy socialists. Bush did what he did NOT for political reasons, but because it was the right thing to do.
And, Americans know that, as well. So good luck -- keep up your b*tching and keep burying yourselves.

"The president did the right thing by visiting the troops yesterday, but this visit won't change the fact that those brave men and women should never have been fighting in Iraq in the first place," said Courtney O'Donnell, a spokesman for Democratic front-runner Howard Dean. Guys like that are just a**holes and there's nothing else to be said.
At least Lieberman was (more or less) a mensch with his comment.
People like She Who Won't be Named can't imagine anything being done honestly without duplicity, since she (and others of her ilk) do everything with ulterior motives for personal gain.

He stole Hillary's thunder. It was suppose to be HER photo-op. FOX showed her answering questions about the Bush visit. Hers was ignored. LOL.
The Democrats are also peeved at the huge military applause Bush recieved from the troops. It was great! It was so great, I still get chills when I see it! They're still showing it on TV, over and over it was so great.
BTW, what was Hillary going there for anyway? Who wants to see a skanky senator from NY? She doesn't matter a bit to them.

"I don't have anything political or partisan to say about it," said Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, campaigning in New Hampshire. "There are days when you have to say, we're not Republicans, we're not Democrats. We are Americans." Damn it! there are days when he makes it difficult to hate any and ALL dems!!

President bush goes to Iraq and never once speaks about himself, he lumps praise on the troops and tells that America is solidly behind them and then serves the troops their dinner, Shakes their hands and thanks them for what they are doing.... AND THE RATS SCREAM:
HOW DARE THE PREZ SALUTE THE TROOPS IN WAR TIME
WHY HASN'T HE GONE TO FUNERALS
PHOTO-OP AFTER LYING TO CNN
THE BAATHIST ARE VERY UPSET ABOUT THIS
AND THE LIST GOES ON

I'm so tired of this. What these rats don't seem to be able to process is that we have Veteran's Day for the very purpose of honoring those who have served. Perhaps our president was naive enough to think that one day of rememberance symbolically stands as his honoring of those who have served and those who have fallen in our fight for freedom - whether in Iraq, Vietnam, Europe, or wherever.
His trip to Iraq was a bold, courageous, and unlike X42, a GENUINE gesture to the entire armed forces protecting our country. To the evil, obnoxious, sinister, anti-freedom jerks who toil day and night in the losing battle to unseat this great man: GO POUND SAND!

It's not an exact quote (google couldn't find it but the real quote has got to be out there somewhere), former Republican governor of California Pete Wilson once said, "The Democrats can jump up and kiss my ass."
I remember him being shown on local news saying it. He was tired of stupid liberal tricks. President Bush would do well to be just as blunt.

I think he has communicated to the families who have lost people in service to our country.
He went into a war zone at his own peril to be with his troupes.
We have been witness to greatness in this man.
I don't agree with all his social spending, but this is a GREAT MAN.
More impressive is that this is a man who has overcome an addiction as well.
He is mocked as being stupid by his enemies, yet he outplays their every hand.
Greatness folks, we've had greatness from this man.

WHY HASN'T HE GONE TO FUNERALS Hillary never went to one funeral in NY after 9/11. Not one. Then, remember the Democrats Welstone funerally. That was a discrace!
Bush has gone to say thank you to the families of those who lost their lives for us. He's a compassionate man, that's for sure.

our president has a pair.

"Seethe with envy, and be obvious about it. That'll win you the election fer sher!" The Dems are going to be in for a huge surprise next November if they keep this stuff up. I know a lot of of FDR type Dems that have had it with this crap. It started with the "war protests" and this constant beating on Iraq will win many more over to the Republican side. You'd think the Dems would wise up. Well, I hope they don't and keep on pounding on Iraq. I smell a fifty state sweep coming.

Hillary Clinton, who isn't running for president (yea right, whistle stop listening tour all over again) chose to go to Afganistan and Iraq to visit the troops. A woman at that in dangerous Iraq. The 9 democrat presidential nominees couldn't seem to find a clue and beat her over their to look presidential.
Yet the President, who's conscience seemed to not allow him to sit at ease on Thanksgiving Day chose to visit with the troops is made out to be everything but something a president should do.
This image says it all. It was the right thing at the right time.

The sad truth is the only reason why Hillary was there is for a photo opt. Bush was a legitimate moral booster for the troops and sent an important message to them. Hillary had nothing to offer.
To: kattracks
Hillary didn't know Bush was going to Iraq. She showed up hours after him. The troops already ate. LOL. What a hoot!
To: concerned about politics
I keep shaking my head asking that question. A very difficult and illusive question that the leftist media fails to ask.

She did all that for nothing. Democrats were raving about her going. They thought it would be a huge success for their side - great PR.

They forgot to quote Al Jazeera -- this is the caption AJ had under Bush's great Thanksgiving photo:

Talking turkey: a photo-op with all the trimmings
Bush returns after Iraq dash
And another article at Al Jazeera:
Bush visit dismissed as mere stunt
Interesting that the Democrats and Al Jazeera seem to agree so often, isn't it?
To: Rightone
Absolutely. He loves the troops, and the troops love him.
How demoralizing it would be for them if one of these bozos won.

He hasn't gone to funerals because - just as when our military flight crew was returned from China in the spring of 2001 - he didn't want the funerals to be about him and put the families through the security ordeal of a presidential visit.
He has met with the grieving families later at military bases around the country.

He doesn't go to funerals because that becomes the story and takes away from the family and it's ceremony and grief.
Anyone with half a brain would understand that.
He visits privately with the families, contacts them, etc.
But if he went to every funeral, you and your liberal friends in the media would then be whining and complaining about him using those funerals for political purposes.
Ridiculous.
