A SOLDIER RESPONDS: A slightly different take than Cheryl Merrill and Dana Milbank: "Mr. Sullivan, I was present for the surprise visit by the President. It was truly wonderful to be there, and my buddies and I really are grateful that President Bush would take a real risk to come see us. He flew about 12 hours to spend 2 hours with us, he served food to the troops, but he never got a chance to eat himself, at least not until he got on the plane, I'd imagine. For 2 hours, the President walked amongst us, not a receiving line where we came to him, stiff and formal, but coming to us, reading our names on our uniforms and greeting us by name. He looked me in the eye when he shook my hand, he joked with some, whispered to others, spoke a little Spanish to my friend. 2 hours of almost non-stop motion, how exhausting after a 12 hour flight! He did it to be with us, and we appreciate it."
Thanks for the email - and thanks for all you're doing.

The liberal press: How can we spin this? If we can change history by making President Reagan into a heavy, we sure can do the same to GWB. While doing this we can make the clintons the biggest patriots heroes in American history.

Kudos to that soldier! I wonder if he knows how proud we are of him and all of the rest of our armed forces.
I allowed myself a little sniffle when I read his e-mail.

Mike called late last night..he was thrilled with Bush's visit. He hadn't heard about Hitlery's comments until I told him..in his most saracastic voice he said, *that's going to do a lot for morale*....we must stop her!

You can see the excitement on their faces, when W walks in the room. You can hear it in their voices. The fact that I haven't seen any video footage of Baghdad Blob's visit must be proof positive that the reaction to her visit was tepid, at best.

Notice how the troops are crawling over each other to get a picture with W. I'm sure the ones with Hillary are counting the seconds until it's over.

I wasn't paying full attention, but...
CNN/Wolfie is talking to Sen. Graham. A side window showed Hillary shaking hands with some of the soldiers. It was interesting. The soldiers' expressions to Hillary seemed to be anything but enthusiastic. Quite a contrast to the troops' obvious excitement around GWB on his trip.

When a human being harbors so much hate and bitter anamosity, like Helen does, hey do not live very long and their life is plagued with weakness and death at a less than average age.
Helen is certainly in that category.

Most Americans believe that Bubba and Hitlery's marriage is simply staged for political reasons. They haven't slept in the same room together since Arkansas.
To: Paul Atreides
Notice how the troops are crawling over each other to get a picture with W. Oh, very much. I love that guy sticking his head in the pic, to be right up close to the President.....it's so telling! And someone posted another pic of the President from behind...he had a soldier on either side of him, they both had their arms around him.....it wasn't "just a pose." They wanted to touch him, hug him, be close to him....kind of like a family shot. You don't see that with Hitlery; and you never saw that with billy the pig.

If you're talking about the black soldier, about direct center of the video...I watched him a lot....the huge smile on his face was ear to ear, the entire time...and he kept looking back and around the room, as if to say to everyone: "can you believe this?, can you just believe this?, I can't believe this....that's the President...he's here with us on Thanksgiving?"

I also notice how Hitlery's pictures appear staged and she places herself in front the soldiers (all of which are older senior ranking) as if she is "Front and Center" above them.
Where on behalf of "W", he is grouped closely in the middle of them and they are young troopers, privates and e-4's.
This speaks volmes about the true nature of personality and ethics. They subliminaly reveal who they truely are.

I get all teary-eyed when I read these "W" Thanksgiving posts. The only thing that has moved me as much was the time I glimpsed the top of the head of an aging Bob Hope at a troop visit in Hawaii.
If I'd been with the troops in Baghdad, I don't think I could have resisted the urge to joyfully hug him, Commander-in-Chief or not.
