Dean trying to explain how he dodged the draft. Matthews is pushing him on it. Laying on the guilt trip.
To: Ron in Acreage
Pressed Dean on deferment. Dean finally said he was looking for deferment when he went in with x-rays.
To: Ron in Acreage
Though he never mentioned skiing in Aspen for 18 months after his dodge. For a bad back. Two years after I had back surgery, I went skiing in Steamboat. After my first fall I was done. I thought I would never get up the pain was so bad. Needless to say I spent the rest of the time doing 12oz. curls at the lodge.
To: GrandmaPatriot
If its not on Fox...I probably won't be watching.

To: GrandmaPatriot
Mathews: "When you went in there with your medical records, were you hoping you'd be deferred?
Dean: "Yes"
At which point the Harvard audience breaks into wild applause. Mathews calls Dean "an honest man", and the audience applause gets even stronger.

What a joke...one draft dodger interviewing another one...Dean's back was too bad to serve his country but it didn't keep him off the ski slopes! These guys all have one thing in common...a wide yellow streak running down their backside!!!

Dean's a fool. He wants to think that cheering college students will get him elected. He's in denial. The majority of them don't even vote.

Was Dean a doctor at the time he got the deferment? If so, then he scammed the system -- just because a doctor isn't physically able to do what actual soldiers can do, he was obviously in decent enough shape to ski and, therefore, would have been able to perform as a physician in the military.
In any event, he's a metrosexual wuss. And a squatty, angry little guy with no neck and whose upper lip doesn't move when he speaks.

Let me know if Dean says something stupid. I will bet cash money that he does.
To: GrandmaPatriot
I just heard Dean talk about us spending money on "tactical battlefield nuclear weapons" instead of spending the money on the War on Terror.
What battlefield nukes? Does he mean the low-yield weapons we could use to take out WMD bunkers and the like?
They are not the same, and it just shows his ignorance. Can't wait to see him try and pull this in a debate with Bush.

To: Ron in Acreage
They were drafting guys by taking them out of college back then? Interesting... I remember a history teacher from my high school who bragged that he kept going to grad school until the draft was called off...

Sounds like he admitted to draft dodging. Problem is, it didn't keep Clinton out of office. How fortunate for lib/dem candidates that he set the bar so low for all subsequents.
To: Miss Marple
Wants to send the i42 to deal with the middle east. When asked how HE would capture Bin Laden...just a smarmy grin.
Chrissie just made a joke about Bush not being able to get UBL..ha ha! Still no cogent answer. No question from Chrissie regarding his brother.

They've popularized the term "chickenhawks" in referring to those that haven't served but want to use the military in America's interest. What about those, like dean, that haven't served and won't use the military even in the event of a threat to the US? I guess we can call him and his fellow travellers chickensh*ts.

Now that I look at it, it seems there are a lot of idiot and ignorant college students in the audience.
Ha ha. "Capitalism is the best invention." Many in the audience are probably crying to that statement.
Dean is just pandering to the losers in the audience.
