DNC - Halliburton provided the fake turkey! (Yes, a REAL DNC conspiracy story)
Democrats.org ^

Posted on 12/04/2003 1:20:26 PM PST by jmcclain19

I couldn't possibly make a theory like this up.

Now, Mike Allen reports in the Washington Post this morning that the turkey Bush held in his photo-op with troops was a prop that was never served to the soldiers. White House officials defend such stage-managing by insisting that their fiction is "designed to accurately dramatize his policies and to convey qualities about him that are real." They're right, and pictures are worth a thousand words. From the man who lied about why we went into war, nothing could be a more accurate image.

P.S. The turkey prop itself was, in all likelihood, provided by Halliburton. Dick Cheney's old firm has the contract to feed troops in Iraq, along with at least $7 billion worth of other no-bid post war contracts paid for by American taxpayers. Maybe Halliburton donated the turkey to Bush — it would have been the least they could do to thank him for all that money.

Please, please, please include this latest lame attempt to attack The President in the DNC talking points. I just know this will be issue that will really resonate with the American public. Yes indeed, while President Bush is fighting terrorism and fixing Clintons economic ship wreck, the demo/socialsts are worrying about who cooked the turkey in Iraq.

Run along now children the grown-ups are busy!

Talk about a non-story! *ANY* time food is provided for large numbers of people, it is commonplace to place a "show" selection for presentation. My college's dorm food was rated 3rd worst in the country by US News, and *they* even provided a show turkey for the last day of classes befoe Thanksgiving (Tuesday). Look at the picture of the turkey... it looks like a display turkey... or did Demonrats at first thought the menu was Turkey and grapes?

(or are those sour grapes for Hillarity?)

What I want to know is who provided the rocks for Clinton's Normandy Invasion anniversary photo-op in 1994?

He made a little cross. How touching. How phony.

I actually predicted this...

A contractor had roasted and primped the turkey to adorn the buffet line, while the 600 soldiers were served from cafeteria-style steam trays, the officials said.

Contractor?! Contractor?!

Halliburton!

Now you can say what you want about Hillary's mind but even the most conservative here have to concede that she is not without merit and appreciable assets from the neck down... Her problems are from the neck up!

Great tagline, in my case it would be:

Well this is infinitely better than that real Turkey carrying the New York Phone Directory covered in black to Church for photo-ops.

I haven't seen a Bible that big since the Exorcist.

You nut, you don't know anything!! This is the scandal of the decade!! If Bush lied about this, what else has he been lying about? His dislike of broccoli? His hat size? That he likes ham better than turkey? I'll have you know that these are vital issues!!!! < /sarcasm off >

This is the centerpiece at FOB Salerno(Khowst area) in Afghanistan. Please notice that even the most primative camps had a table decorated with food.

I remember coming in from a mission in DaNang, where we had laid ambush bangs, and Thanksgiving dinner was ready. I saw the display turkey and proceeded to knock chunks off with my K-Bar. The mess sgt. started screaming and yelling and I apologized, while chewing on a drumstick. Seems that was his dinner, I guess. Hell it would have been cold and greasy by the time he and his buddies would have gotten to it.
