As you probably have discerned, the lovelies at MoveOn.org have moved-on from their original charter of mewling about "vicious right-wing extremist attacks on President Clinton's personal sex life" to adopt a particularly strident blend of anti-America-ism, hate-Bush-ism, and appeasment of terrorists.

Well. Now through the magic of the Web they have arranged almost 3,000 "house parties" this Sunday at which a propaganda video, "Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War" will be shown. You too can sign up to attend or host a house party at http://action.moveon.org/meet/parties.html.

I checked and there are four such parties within ten miles of my suburban home, including one at the local Quaker meeting house. The blurb for one at a home about a mile from me states:

"Please join us for an evening of viewing "Uncovered - the whole truth behind the Iraqi War", discussion and evaluation of the lies that we have been fed over the last year by the Bush administration. Follow-up actions and activities to spread the word will be discussed. Please bring some food/drinks to share with other attendees and meet your "Move-On" neighbors. Please come later, if you cannot make the first screening of the film and the conference call scheduled at 5.30. The party will last till 8 pm at least! NOTE: This is an activist household - Dean for President in 2004 - but feel free to bring any other literature or buttons/bumper stickers you may want to share with others - we have a big tent!"

Clearly these people need a good Freeping.

It was put together by our friends at "ProtestWarrior.com" -- the group that has dedicated itself to "crashing" all of the Socialist-led anti-American, anti-troops, "anti-war" demonstrations around the country. The short documentary they've put together, titled "Eagle Strike", shows the kind of tactics they're using that are REALLY ticking off the radicals marching in the streets. PLUS, this Internet film shows the "underbelly of the beast" by showing you what these street marchers are REALLY saying and doing. Let's put it this way: they LIE when they say they're "for the troops and against the war".

Our 'house party' in Lincoln, Nebraska, is being hosted by the Mary Riepma Ross film theater, owned and operated by the University of Nebraska. I contacted the director of the film theater, pointing out to him that this is clearly a partisan political event, and shouldn't be hosted by a state institution. He replied as follows

  MRRMAC is using this event in order to facilitate discussion, both pro and con, about the issues raised in the film.  In other words, for our part, this is an educational rather than a partisan event.  In particular, my interest in the event stemmed from the promise of being able to have a live discussion with the filmmaker via telephone after the screening.  Someone other than me listed the event on the Move On web site but I welcome this extra publicity along with the local notices (The Scarlet, for example) of the screening.  I hope you will attend the screening and participate in the discussion afterwards.

Of course, it's just a coincidence this screening coincides with the moveon.org National House Party. Riiiiight.

Anyway, I've contacted our chancellor to ask him to tell the film theater to move the screening off campus. If he won't, I'm going to contact the state Republican chairman. Stay tuned.
