Shep Smith just announced on a Fox News Alert that both makers of the flu vaccine have announced that they are out of the vaccine.

Demand this year has been five time greater than in previous years.

I was unable to locate anyone in Orange County that had
the flu vaccine available for me and my family. The state
health agencies do have some limited quantities on hand,
but are restricting its use to people who are 60 and older.

I got my shot before I turned 60 but, lol, I turned 60, 11-22-2003.

I have had a headache for two days now that I can't shake. I never have headaches. I had 12 people in from, Houston, New Orleans and Indianopolis for Thanksgiving. I think I must have caught something from that crowd. I hope it's not Hepatitis A from the cooked green onions.

How many types of flu is going around? We have all had the flu.and were pretty sick. What causes death with the flu? Is it fever or fluid in the lungs? Pardon my dumnbness. I suspect we didn't have the deadly strain. Also can you get the flu more than once, or two different strains in one season.

Some-one smarter than me will be along in a minute to answer your question. I just found out on one of these 'flu' threads that the 'common cold' is a virus too.

Thanks for the ping, blam. If they're out of the vaccine, I guess nobody who doesn't want it will have to take it. I can't take it, I'm allergic, but if I could, I would. This year's promises to be a doozy, and I don't think it's alarmism.

The last time I had a flu shot was at officer's training school at Lackland AFB. Guess what? It gave me the flu.
