To paraphrase Winston Churchill, "Conservativism is the worst political philosophy yet devised by man. Except for every other one."

Of course He would find faults with conservatism, it is flawed like all of man's creations. The point is to determine which He would have preferred. Conservativism is most closely aligned with Christ's simple philosophy, though I welcome His input into my own political views, and not vice-versa.

Um.... Actually his quote was:

Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those others that have been tried.

Its often convenient to distort the words of others, even the Bible and the Word of God to suit ones own views. The bible has been used to support many causes including slavery, racism, sexual discrimination by people who genuinely believed that God's word advocated these atrocities. The words of Brigham Young are particularly enlightening in this area.
