When it comes to getting elected, you just can't please everybody, all the time Absolutely right. I get so sick of people who get much of want they want from a president but continue to complain that they didn't get everything they want. Well it's better than getting nothing you want from Dean and Co.,
Even Ronald Reagan didn't give me everything I wanted, and more than a few things I didn't.

The only thing that matters is what W. does between now and the election. The only thing that matters is whether of not this country survives the next 25 years, and their are many indicators it will not!

The only thing that matters is whether of not this country survives the next 25 years, and their are many indicators it will not! This represents a change in the subject; I was only addressing Evangelical support for the President. That will be based heavily on his support (or lack thereof) of certain social issues, of which preventing forced societal recognition of homosexual and/or group marriage is one of the more important elements just now.
Of course, you may have been referring to the fact that our country may not continue to exist in any recognizable form if the leftist element of the judiciary has their way.

I agree that the White House will use the evangilicals like an old shoe and then forget them. As an evangilical I have seen it happen too many times.
That doesn't change the fact that Lew is a nut waiting for a tree to sprout.
I will vote for President Bush in the next election by default. That doesn't mean I am satisfied with his performance. He is going to be the least poor of the choices available.

That's why I am voting for Dean!Clearly, the Evangelicals would not shift their support to Dean but they might put their support behind a third-party candidate or just not vote at all.

This article is a perfect example of RINO power at it's finest.
Christians have not abandoned Bush. Bush has abandoned Christians.
He now favors Islam, it seems.
Many life-long Republicans are in disgust at the wholesale compromises and abandoning of campaign promises to Christian Republicans (you know - the ones who put him in office) Bush has made.
Comments I'm hearing is "There is not a dime's worth of difference between democrats and republicans."

Why not he supports 2nd Amendment rights.
Something I don't think the pubis in the WH supports.

I believe this author underesitmates the depth of W's convictions.
I believe that President Bush is going to stand firm on these issues despite the potential for political fallout, and he will firm-up his voter base (and grow it) for having done so despite the "sky-is-falling" predictions of perennial pessimists like Rockwell.
As concerns the Marriage issue, if the queer vote had any real clout in America, Gore would have won last time around.

"Trying to cut the combat pay of soldiers." Most of what you say is true.
But from the information I've been able to find, Bush was not behind cutting troop pay.

He is a methodist, to the born again that is worse than being a papist.
As a recovering methodist of long standing, i find that two last methodists presidents have done the most damage to this country since FDR.

Lee Reockwell is an a-hole I think you should learn to use different language.
Of course this Rockwell never writes anything true logical or coherent. He deserves as litle respect as there can be. Liberals and leftists are honest and upfront about their beliefs and deserve more respect than the likes of Rockwell and those who write at his site and those who post it here.

Excellent post, JohnGalt. Note the knee-jerk criticisms from Bushbots, who fail to see what the Neocon influence hath wrought on this Administration.
And half of the critics don't even know what a Neocon is. That's why God invented Google, folks: Spend an hour reading and learn why David Frum, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, and the "Girly Men" at National Review (in Ann Coulter's wonderful phrase) are betraying conservative principles. And George W. Bush, too.

For your edification the last methodist president before the current pubis in the WH, was HRC.
