You mention CFR and Medicare entitlement, but you forgot to mention Bush's ban on Florida offshore drilling and wimping out on ANWR. Oh, don't forget Bush let Ted Kennedy write the Education Bill.

Ok you Conservatives! ...to the back of the bus! and now!

I think the title and the tone of the article is repulsive. If you don't like the GOP get the heck out. The democrats love TRAITORS they will gladly take you under their wing.

What we probably need a long list of thousands of Conservative voters who will promise NOT to vote for Georgie II in 2004 unless he dumps Karl Rove, PUBLICLY.

Its not like we're putting Rove out of work. With his experience, he could easily work for Wesley Clark, Dick Gephard,or even Dean.

Somehow the libertarian, smaller government branch of the GOP (many of us), need to figure out how to get our point across to the national party. This is out of hand. In 2004, I will provide 100% support for Bush; in practical terms, it is either Bush or Dean/Kerry/Hillary, etc. Bush is our guy for 2004. He's done a lot of things that I love, but also some things that are going to bite us in the rear long-term.

Somehow we need to have a stronger voice in the party for the next four years and for future elections regarding spending and govt growth. I don't know what the solution would be, but if there is one, it could come from this forum.

Conservatives will either vote Republican or not vote.

When conservatives vote, Republicans usually win.

The Bush administration doesn't want conservatives to vote.

Even African dung beetles realize after awhile that they are getting dumped on & it's becoming more apparent everyday how the GOP feels about conservatives. Wake up and smell the dung. Sometimes a third party looks very appealing. Time will tell, but I don't expect very much from the current leadership of the gop.

Great idea.

I'm thinking about resigning my Precinct Chair post, to let our local party at least know how I feel about campaign finance reform, medical socialism, and Bush's promise to sign any renewal of the assault weapons ban.

I don't care that the ban won't be renewed: the point is, Bush has said HE would renew it.

I felt betrrayed then, and I feel that way still.

I disagree with your emotion. The Republican Party has its problems, yes. It is head and shoulders above the only other electable party in the nation: the Democrats. I say this as a former Liberal, one who believed in socialist ideas.

Let's face it: there are really only two choices. The Republican Party needs tweaking for sure, and it could stand to have a few more conservatives. But I also believe the leaders in the Republican Party--and by leaders I mean the elected representatives--are by and large conservative in their outlook and practice. Yes even with the bad legislation they've passed in the last couple years.

Success sometimes means taking a long road instead of a short road; I know that isn't a popular idea or immediately gratifying...but let us not forget the incrementalism of liberalism throughout the 1960s and 1970s...bit by bit, the socialist philosophy pervaded our schools, courts, legislation. Now we are at a point where, bit by bit, conservative philosophy has a chance to trickle into the national psyche. Though it looks to take the same accutrements of 'social engineering' programs, don't be fooled: As an example, this Medicare reform puts prevention above correction--saving money in the long run. It also allows, albeit in limited fashion, COMPETITION between prescription drug programs.

I have grown to be conservative but I also think sometimes we want it all right NOW. Such a shock would not be politic; there would be heavy price to pay at the ballot box. We must be wise in our approach. The President, though misstepping in some ways, is working at taking a wise--if circuituous route.

A good vanity.

I also heard this on Rush and my blood boiled. Rush said conservatives have no place else to go and thus will continue to vote as a block to the Republicans.

I heard Rush say "conservatives have no place else to go" but not that they'll necessarily continue to vote for Republicans. It seemed to me he left that part open.

For a while I'd thought there would be no point in supporting a party other than the GOP, but I'm beginning to reconsider. Possibilities seem to be slowly "ripening"...

It is easy to say become an independent, but the power of the system is still the two parties. I for one will fight to keep the conservative agenda alive in the Republican Party, rather than abandon it.

I chuckle happily when I see the Greens in a temper screeching that they won't vote for the Dems because they "abandoned their liberal base".... the more divided the left is, the more power the right has. These Greens know that but are outraged that they aren't pandered to more by the Democrat Party.

It's frustrating to same the same counter-productive tantrum over here on the right... conservatives are supposed to be a bit smarter than this.

There's party primaries, conventions, precinct delegates.

Don't run from the left. Fight them, and kick their ass.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, keep your powder dry... Once the Dems are gone, then the third more conservative party will take the spot of the Republican Conservative Apparatus. Until that time, when the dems are no longer a threat to national security, we must vote Republican. Who else you gonna vote for?? A liberatarian?? Why not just vote for Perot

Your little vanity is so "John and Yoko".

Instead of "Destro", you should callk yourself "Retro".

Woman is the Nigger of the World
John Lennon

Woman is the nigger of the world
Yes she is...think about it
Woman is the nigger of the world
Think about it...do something about it

We make her paint her face and dance
If she won’t be slave, we say that she don’t love us
If she’s real, we say she’s trying to be a man
While putting her down we pretend that she is above us

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don’t belive me take a look to the one you’re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Ah yeah...better screem about it

We make her bear and raise our children
And then we leave her flat for being a fat old mother then
We tell her home is the only place she would be
Then we complain that she’s too unworldly to be our friend

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don’t belive me take a look to the one you’re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Yeah (think about it)

We insult her everyday on TV
And wonder why she has no guts or confidence
When she’s young we kill her will to be free
While telling her not to be so smart we put her down for being so dumb

Woman is the nigger of the world...yes she is
If you don’t belive me take a look to the one you’re with
Woman is the slaves of the slaves
Yes she is...if you belive me, you better screem about it.

We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance
We make her paint her face and dance

During my call this morning to the White House comment line, I brought up this very subject with the gentleman that answered my call.

I informed him that it was a very bad mistake to sneer in the face of conservatives and brag that we have no where else to go, and informed him that we are not the plantation dwelling types. We can't even get along with each other, much less be herded by a turncoat political party.

I don't know anyone out of my friends, family, co-workers that are going to vote for Bush again. Domestically he is Chernoble. I also called my Senator's office and asked why they are not doing a better job of containing the damage Bush is doing and asked what in the world the Republican Party was thinking when they ran him for office.

All I talked to was a secretary, but she let me know that we are on the same page.
