PARIS, Dec. 12 Muslim groups are chafing at the core values of modern-day France, the head of a presidential panel said Friday, a day after it called for the outlawing of Islamic head scarves in schools.
Bernard Stasi said outlawing head scarves and other religious symbols from schools will not solve all France's problems with its large immigrant community. But he said the nation cannot tolerate those who seek to undermine its values, which include a strict separation of church and state.
''There are indisputably Muslims or ... groups seeking to test the resistance of the republic, that bear a grudge against the values of the republic, that want France to no longer be France,'' Stasi said on France-Inter radio. ''We cannot tolerate that.''
Stasi is the former minister for France's overseas dominions from 1973-1974 and author of ''Immigration, a chance for France'' in 1984. He said that France has not succeeded in integrating its millions of immigrants, many from former colonies in North Africa.

The French are going to have to face the simple fact that everything their country strives to achieve (tolerance, women's rights, multi-culturalism, eliminating religion from public life) is the complete opposite of what the Islamic radicals insitute in areas they control. It's only a matter of time before these radicals in Europe start trying to institute sharia laws within their community.

"And what would those be?" Christianity in France, though greatly diluted now, is beginning to feel the squeeze of Mohamedism. Here's hoping the rest of France wakes up in time.

Which are??????
Too bad you rotten Frenchies. See how La France will look forested with minarets and your homely women swathed from head to toe in Burkas. You'll also loose your precious nasal/gurgling language to Arabic.
And guess what?
It'll ALL be your own fault!!
Long live Henry VI!!

Core values? And what would that be, removing Crucifix, removing God from life of others! Somewhere, something is wrong with his statement.

"France soon will be over run by the Mulsim hord.." Oh well, at least we got to see Brigitte Bardot without a burqua. The Muslim pinup girls will bodly reveal a square inch of ankle bone.

Let's not underestimate the self-righteousness or ruthless barbarity of the French once they put their minds to something.
I've got as little use for the environutcases as the next guy, but I don't think we should kill them. On the other hand, the Frogs had no compunctions about blowing up the Rainbow Warrior with people aboard when it was interfering with their nuke testing.
If (and that's a pretty big "if") the French government ever decides that they've taken enough crap from their Muslime minority, they'll make the Nazis look like summer camp counselors.

They are numbingly dumb. They put up with violent crime in wholesale lots, millions of young men on the dole gone "wilding", then try to make it all better by oppressing schoolgirls. Wrong target, wrong tactic.

The same might be said of the USA. America's greatest export is liberal culture in the form of TV, movies and internet porn.
The conservative view never makes it past the water's edge.

Nice display of ugly chauvinism on this thread, I must say.
I will bet that France and the rest of Europe will deal with this problem sooner than the country that has practically banned the word "niggardly" from use, and where similar statements by anyone in government, not to say a "presidential panel", would be utterly inconceiveable! A French official spoke the truth, and what do our officials say? Oh, I remember now, "religion of peace"! Yes, that's the ticket!

It IS pretty amazing; we will send/spend armies and an armada, tons of money and a fair amount of diplomatic good will to fight terrorism in Iraq, the French will not.
The French will step up and actually SAY something about terrorism at home, SAY something about immigration and undermining of whatever values they possess, and they will
ACT to restore their fundamental "French-ness"; the US will do none of those things.
Instead, the US actively supresses most of the fundamental values that made it the world's only superpower and pleads for understanding and tolerance from its illegals and unappreciative newbies .
Pretty sick actually.

Those fundamentalist Muslims look at the entertainment garbage that gets broadcast into their countries- no wonder they despise us. And we insist that we be allowed to sell and broadcast our music, our movies, our products and our mores in places such as Saudi Arabia and Iran?

Contrast this with the Feds in this country ruling a police force
must allow a Muslim woman to wear a hear scarf on the job, against regulations.
Which country is the spineless multicultural sponge, again?
