Rashbaum confesses that retiring "scares the bejesus out of me." He'll know what real fear is about a half second after he kicks off.

Interesting article about a thoroughly interesting, and complicated man. He's also throughly corrupt, of course, but in a refreshingly honest, open sort of way. He got into the business for the "tons of money" when his divorce pinched his finances. He got into second-trimester abortions, out of bordom. He was bothered by abortions at first, but that didn't slow him down.
He's an avowed athiest, so whatever moral bounds he respects, they won't be informed by the notion of God, scriptures, or any being superior to himself, save prehaps, for the Supreme Court.
He's so thoroughly corrupt, the perfect example perhaps, of what the Bible indicates happens to people who so effectively resist the Holy Spirit, and resist God, that they are given over to total corruption. To them, "up" is down", "black" is white, and "wrong" is absolutely right.
Sad.. for him, for all the aborted babies. God will sort it out, but God help him, because no one else can.

Husbands or boyfriends have been known to barge into his office and violently insist their baby not be aborted, to which Rashbaum replies with an equally violent, "Fuck you, Charlie, we can abort her." This speaks for itself. This abortionist will kill your child right in front of you if he had to.

In emergencies, he has driven patients to the hospital in his own car. Its never mentioned how many post-abortive women wind up in the emergency room. Not many, but maybe more than we think.

Interestingly, a lot of abortion doctors are quite old, as is the man in this article. Younger doctors are not moving up to replace them in large numbers. It is a dirty bsuiness, and the neighborhood abortionist is not the most popular person at the Christmas party.
The result is that there are fewer abortion facilities than there were. The older generation of doctors did it for "women's rights" but the younger ones don't want to live with the stigma, the constant protests, or maybe even the fear (because a few idiots threaten them.)

As pregnancy moves closer to 24 weeks
I was born at 28 weeks. You can't tell me that's not baby.
that certainly adds a new perspective.

"Why do these leftist publications keep republishing this article? Are they proud of this monster?"
This is the amazing thing to me. Mother Jones and Boston Herald are as liberal as they come. This is some kind of heroic story for them. Pity the poor doctor who worked through a few unpleasant nightmares until he became callous enough to do abortions without his conscience bothering him.
To the credit of the journalist, the truth of the story comes out well enough to illustrate the horror all too well.

P.S. I wonder how many of the 20,000 women are on the psychiatist's couch because of this doctor's work. I doubt they send him cards, however.

Many may have done it on principle, but the article implies that greed was a large part of this guy's motivation.
Lots of money to be made doing the procedures, and a thriving side business in selling off parts.
