Not to take anything away from our esteemed theological opponent, Brian, during his moment of success, I'll observe that he has nothing in the skills of writing and persuasion that you don't have in abundance. Start writing, boy. The Presbys don't need to take a back seat to our Roman FRiends. We Baptists will have to beg off on this one because we still consider literacy to be a snare of the devil.

LOL!! That's a hilariously self-deprecating way of referring to the 18th-Century Baptist practice of employing non-seminarian Ministers ("I tried to enroll in an Established Seminary, but all I got out of it was ten lashes and these cool leg manacles" -- 18th Century Baptist t-shirt)..

I'm quite serious. You should do some writing and get your feet wet. Many of us have encouraged you for a long time. I am confident that you would be published before long.

A.J. Armitage graciously offered me a free spot for a weekly column on his regular Web Log (a small start, sure, but it's something) almost a year ago... but I never got around to taking him up on the offer (sigh). Now that I will be in business for myself, I should have ample time to do a little Writing (as if I haven't in the past) -- I'll have to get myself into the practice of picking a new topic, each week, and coming up with (or restraining myself to) six or eight pithy paragraphs which communicate my argument effectively...

...it's amazing to me how writers I really admire (like Joseph Sobran or Fred Reed) can do that week after week, with imagination and wit, without becoming stale or mentally exhausted, and with no diminution in quality (on reflection, I might be setting the bar a little high for myself -- those are both literary geniuses, IMO; although Joe would probably dismiss the compliment by claiming he is no Mencken, while Fred might throw a hard right-cross at anyone who dared to call him a genius anything).

Smashing piece. Polycrap is outstanding. When Vatican Two encouraged the Laity (and Canon Law succored their activities in their field of competence)they were thinking of great Christians like Polycarp.

Try talking to FloriDUH bureaucrat if you want undiluted "rectal encounter". And the worst part is that their sexual preference makes no difference. Most all of those things suffer from severe recticranial inversion syndrome.

"...rectal intercourse is probably the most sexually efficient way to spread hepatitis B, HIV, syphilis and a host of other blood-borne diseases."

Gee, imagine that!

Big surprise. Imagine the most of the rectal intercourse adult web sites are heterosexual. Seems this perversion has spread big time to the straight community.

Ted Bundy was a porno addict. The media are no more eager to connect the dots in his case than they are with the same-sex killers.

The thought that what we choose to think or read about might have real consequences is not to be allowed in public print.
