GETTING THE RED OUT, a review of a book on Reds & McCarthyism

Of all the many national and ideological clashes of the 20th century, none was more colossal than Communism. It emerged triumphant in Russia in 1917 and reached for world domination in the 1940s. And as unlikely as it seems today, at that time, many Western intellectuals confidently predicted Communism's ultimate triumph.

In a sense, this book is a memorial to the many who lost their lives under Communism (estimated at 100 million) and an indictment of the lunacy of the self-annointed intellectuals who blindly embraced the horrific slaughters in the name of "a greater good," the triumph of Marxism. It also appears to support components of Ann Coulter's thesis as described in her book, "Treason."

Altogether, radicals had mailed 30 bombs to congressmen, judges and other public figures.

Most, if not all of these radical communist terrorists and sympathizers, came to the US before the Russian Revolution. They immigrated to the Eastern US from Russia and Poland. They had missed the Russian Revolution in 1917 and set out to bring one upon the US. The result was the "Red Scare" of the 1920's and the driving of these "Reds" underground into the Democratic Party. Their likes can still be felt today. Michael Newdow, the atheist, is a descendant of one of these Reds. He is the one before the Supreme Court attempting to remove "One nation, under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. These people left their religion in Russia and Eastern Europe and embraced communism as their new faith. They are still with us to this day.

He is equally clear that the Communist Party's allies, "progressives" of one sort or another, willfully closed their eyes to Stalin's crimes and to the infiltration of the U.S. government by secret Communists who assisted Soviet espionage

Considering the leftist rhetoric that passes for "news" from the mainstream media, and the leftist indoctrination that passes for "education" from modern academia, they still do.

Hell, the mainstream media is already spinning Saddam's capture as something negative. Traitors.

Can't tell from this if it is worth reading or just another ultra-left wing apologia for communism.

I don't like "... Communism slowly withered and, finally, collapsed in 1991."

This sounds like we sat there watching, passively, and did nothing. The fact of the matter is that communism fell (at least the Soviet version) because President Reagan assertatively confronted it and forced it to blink and then, fall. It didn't wither, it was crushed!

The democrats and other America-haters represent the neocommunists, the non-Soviets who are as vigorous in their efforts to destroy America, the American way of life, and capitalism as were Soviets. And, they must be resisted as vigorously as Reagan opposed the Soviets.

Looks like an interesting article..

But I see on the news all these Iraqies cheering the capture of Saddam. They are all waving big red soviet communist flags.

So how do we get the red out of Iraq? I know it is a slightly different subject but I could not resist.

Morgan maintains a clear-eyed balance in his narrative, emphasizing that the American Communist Party was, from its origins, an anti-democratic movement subordinate to Moscow's control and an eager auxiliary to Soviet espionage against the United States. He is equally clear that the Communist Party's allies, "progressives" of one sort or another, willfully closed their eyes to Stalin's crimes and to the infiltration of the U.S. government by secret Communists who assisted Soviet espionage.

And they haven't changed -- they are still working against the US with all the heart and soul......

I hadn't heard that yet, very interesting! Do you have a link for that, please? There are a few people I'd like to forward that to :-)
