...More practical 'Rats will give Lieberman the nomination ....

Huh? No chance. Might as well say Kucinich or Sharpton. No chance they put Lieberman in. He's dull. He has baggage. He's only Bush-lite on the WOT. And, 25% of the Rat vote will NEVER vote for a Jewish politician.

If your argument is they will pick someone safe, it will be Gephardt and cross their fingers.

Apparently the bursting of the dot-com bubble, the destruction of a multi-trillion dollar financial institution in a terrorist attack and a stock market rife with accounting fraud did nothing to affect our economic picture.
I've noticed the same thing. Weird how you never hear how that might have affected our economy. You'd think someone ought to have noticed. ;-)

One thing that bothers me - its possible countries are shorting the dollar, driving down its value, worrying about a MAJOR hit on the US - infrastructure, major population center, who knows. All the more reason to go with a president that recognized the need for the WOT and regularly reaffirms his commitment to it.

And before the "close the borders" people jump on me - I'm not happy about "our" immigration policies but I am happy my president isn't named "Al"!

But, ironically, in contrast to Clark, a very recent convert to the Democrats, such comments may make Lieberman come across as a disloyal figure in party terms, repeating a classic Bush and GOP line. In that case his attempt to capitalize on Saddam's capture may just rebound and dig him even deeper in his hole.

This is true...as Dean has tapped into, and nurtured the ever-larger contrarian vote, which is the core of Democrat policy at this point.

Your wasting your time discussing socialista issues with centrists.

“A government that is big enough to give you all you want is big enough to take it all away.”- Barry Goldwater

“I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed in their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is 'needed' before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' interests, I shall reply that I was informed their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can.”- Barry Goldwater from The Conscience of a Conservative

Yeah, I know. But it is fun giving them a wedgie from time to time.

What a sorehead!

Yeah, what's a Constitution getting trashed so much to get worked up about anyhow?

And Socialized Medicine? We denied it to the Dims just so we could save it for Jorge; we really fixed them, didn't we? heh-heh!

Merry ChristmasWinter Holidays,
Chumps!
