His scruffy appearance plus the pics of the hole gave the impression, even to Iraqis, that he had lived a degraded existence. The Wizard is just a pitiful guy when the curtain is lifted. I read he had moisturizer and other civilized products, plus the unopened new clothing. Funny, he could have created a whole different image by looking spiffy and greeting his captors in the front parlor. No matter how brief a time he was there, I'm glad for the rathole imagery. Works for me.

Wartime makes for strange bedfellows. Weren't we allied with the Soviets during WWII also ? Then, wasn't there the Cold War ? And then, didn't Ronnie bust them up and now aren't we friendlier with them again ? It seems that there was something going on between Iran and Irag at the time that pic was made. I think Saddam may have been the lesser of two evils? Just thinkin' out loud here.
