"Material Girl" Madonna endorses Democratic candidate Wesley Clark
Yahoo! News ^ | Tue Dec 16 2003 | AFP

Posted on 12/16/2003 9:07:41 PM PST by yonif

Former vice president Al Gore (news - web sites) may be supporting Howard Dean (news - web sites), but retired army general Wesley Clark (news - web sites) has support in his quest for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination from ... Madonna (news - web sites).

The Material Girl on Tuesday publicly threw her support behind the retired four-star general, one of nine Democrats seeking to replace George W. Bush in the November 2004 election.

"I endorse him because I think he's a great guy," the pop superstar said on CNN Tuesday. "I think he's a natural born leader."

Madonna believes that because of his military experience Clark "knows how to deal with pressure," and as the former NATO (news - web sites) supremo "has a good handle in foreign policy."

Clark spokesman Jamal Simmons was star-struck by the endorsement.

"We have a superstar supporting a four star," he quipped.

Madonna organized a dinner for Clark at her Los Angeles residence in November, when he was in town raising funds for his presidential bid, Simmons said.

Did she see his handle? Did she fondle it?

I can't stand that lady. She has guts to sell a kid book, and saying she won't let their children to see what she did when she was performing. What a hypocrite! It is amazing how liberals works, what it so pathetic about this, this is a woman who made millions selling trash to our kids, and youth, and now she thinks she is perfect right. I need to get a cop of coffee.

"I can't stand that lady."

What lady?! Madonna must think we all have short memories or something. When she came out with her first, and rather revolting and trashy book, 'Sex', I took all of the CD's I had purchased by her and sold them to a used CD store. It was as if she'd gone completely off the deep end in the early '90s. The 'Sex' and domatrix-phase nearly destroyed her career then. It's rather tongue in cheek that she's writing childrens' books-and faking an English accent at that.

I'm sure you're using the term, 'smart' here loosely? While I agree that even celebs can support whoever they want, they all should take Laura Ingram's advice, and "Shut up and sing". Leave the heavy lifting to the thinking people.

Even Madonna is smart enough to know that Kerry is a loser.

But lots of Repbulicans are smart enough to know the Republican primaries will be boring in 2004. It will be much more fun to vote for Dean in the DemocRAT primary and help get an unelectable candidate nominated on the DemocRAT ticket.
