any chance you can add "offthetrain" to your screen name?

You know, there is such a thing as picking your battles.
Screaming about the "Morning after pill" is going to make you look like a nutcase who wants to ban things like condoms, rather than someone actually concerned about human life who wants to end such barbaric practices as partial birth abortion.
The left is really good at starting small and gaining momentum. Too bad prolifers haven't figured that one out yet, choosing instead to "freakout the squares" and parade around with gigantic placards of aborted fetuses. Such tactics worked so well for the anti-war movement, after all.

You have a point. Pro-life groups have not grasped the concept of incrementalism. Instead of demanding ROE be overturned right now, the pro-life movement would be better served advocating late term abortion bans, parental consent, and cutting all govt funding to Planned Parenthood.

Nor have they grasped marketing, which is why I focused on the love for the gruesome that many of them display.
Planned Parenthood et al. didn't get where they are by talking about "vacuuming that damn fetus out of you" after all. They called it choice.

I happen to agree with you on this, but I think you need to work more tactfully if you hope to persuade anyone at FreeRepublic.
Also, I love Mother Teresa's great speech at the clinton prayer breakfast, which put bill & hillary into a state of shock, but it's not going to help persuade anyone on this particular issue.

Screaming about the "Morning after pill" is going to make you look like a nutcase who wants to ban things like condomsBut they do want to ban condoms, and every other type of birth control
And you're right, when the extremists denounce the morning-after pill and say that rape victims should have to give birth to the child of their rapist, they just hurt their own cause by driving away millions of potential supporters who think those postions are crazy

" going to make you look like a nutcase "
Dr. Freud taught us that "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".
and so, also,
sometimes what "looks like a nutcase" is just a nutcase.

From my vantage point, making this available over the counter absent age requirements is as extreme as it gets.
High school girls can not take an aspirin without permission from the parents. Birth control pills must be precribed by a medical doctor.
But high dose birth control pills can be bought over the counter by anybody. The picture is all wrong. Lots of pin cushioning, flyback lines and vertical drift.

What I think would be interesting - and don't get me wrong - I'm pro-life - but what I would find most interesting would be an answer to the question, "What about the unwanted children that are out there now?" Not the unborn, mind you - but those that have been born, but are unwanted.

High school girls can not take an aspirin without permission from the parents.
Making such obviously incorrect statements as this does not further your cause. High school girls--and boys--can buy and take all the aspirin they want, without having to get permission from their parents.
