"That's really from the web site? You have GOT to be kidding."

==

I had the same reaction, it's over the top, even for Dean.

Then I looked and sure enough there is a website "unemployedfordean.com" and the list was exactly as posted.

What do you tell your children when they are hungry and Hillary takes a 10 million dollar vacation to Egypt on the taxpayers money? Woops, I guess that was when the Democrats were in the Whitehouse, stealing all the furniture and dishes they could get away with, and stripping airfarce one of everything that was not riveted down, while bill had his flings on the oval office floor, and in the hall, and on the presidential seal of the with monica.

It's funny, everyone talked about the great economy under Clinton. My family didn't experience that. Of course, my husband and I got married young and didn't get any fancy degrees. Now, when the economy is "so bad" dh has used his work experience to move up in jobs and now owns a Fed Ex route. Not a bad chunk of change, even after taxes and expenses. So much for the bad economy.

There are people corporate offices that don't think of anybody except themselves.

There are people corporate offices that think that outsourcing American jobs is great for everybody.

Remember the one Johnny draw of all the other kid's going on vacation and he sat home eating dried out bread.

And he thinks he's unemployed because of Bush?

"Paid for and maintained by an Unemployed American Citizen"

===

Apparently he has plenty of money to spend, even though he is unemployed!

Someone should find out who REALLY registered and is maintaining the domain name.

There is an Economist that thinks that you can make money with ideas.

Here is an inventor who thinks the same thing, who has made a decent living for the last 45 years, creating jobs for other people with those ideas, and who has never been unemployed for more than a few months.

But if I ever give up trying to support myself with ideas, then I must remember to go visit that website so I can whine and wallow.

Maybe the site is a high school project.

Doesn't anyone understand that with manufacturing going offshore all the time, just about the only thing that America has to sell is ideas?

Grr.

There are people in the Whitehouse that went to the best colleges and universities in America and don't know what a loaf of bread or quart of milk costs.

There are people running in the Democratic presidential primaries -- right this very second, mind -- who genuinely seem to believe that rescinding each and every tax cut you've received in the last three years will (somehow) actually help you to afford more bread and milk.

The technical term for such individuals is: lying sacks of sh!!!t. :)

all the jobs I can find are well below my qualifications.

In other words - I'm not that interested in working - I'd rather sit around and bitch than get off my ass and actually do something.

From the Unemployed for Dean website:

Photo of a house party for Dean. Looks to be a split level home with about 1600 SF + - with a 2 car garage on a large, well manicured lot. Those are some nice windows maybe Andersons, and in another photo there is a really nice deck. Anyone care to put a price on it?

Now, compare that house with a typical Southern mill town house that sells for around $30-60K.

Tell me who is going to be more in tune with the price of a loaf of bread or quart of milk?....and who in the hell buys quarts of milk anymore anyway, its the least stocked dairy item in my grocery store.

Incredible. I wonder if it ever occurred to these people to tell their kids something like, "Now you be good for mommy today. Daddy is going out to look for a job again."

...Or depending on the age of the kid(s) saying something like "It's time you start pullin' your weight around here by helping the family what with money being so tight, like things like baby sitting, cutting lawns, dog walking...We all need to pitch in..."

Having had dairy stocking experience I can certify to the fact that people who live alone or seldom drink milk buy the quarts. Generally old people and busy bachelors.

Unlike Unemployed for Dean, I have a job. It's not a great job, but it's a job. It doesn't pay what I'd like to get, but it pays, and I have benefits. Because of that job, I was able to purchase a house, I was able to file for (and win) sole custody of my daughter. I honestly don't like the job - primarily the politics of the job. I love the people I work with - retired school teachers and police officers and firefighters from Ohio. They are some wonderful people, and make all the BS worth it.

But I'm looking for another job - and, unlike Unemployed for Dean, I'm going to find one, and not sit around and be a bitter ass about it. I'll keep working, and do the best I can at it until I find another one. Unlike Unemployed for Dean, if I'm laid off, you won't find me bitching about it. You'll find me at McDonald's or Ryan's or someplace - anyplace - where I can work until I find another job.

And unlike Unemployed for Dean, I can spell White House - and I'm not afraid to do it. Let's put Bush back in the White House for another four years!
