If the kid has to be blemish-free, Mom should wrap him up like a mummy, and not forget the helmet and pads.

Oh heck, maybe she should just keep him home in a playpen.

Can't the city sue or arrest her for abusing Child Labor Laws or maybe just for being a really awful Stage Mom?

How about "Another living example of what's sick in our society"?
2-year-old model? Gheeeeez.

Nothing like defining clearly to our children that you can have the IQ of a carrot and still make it big by being a model, a cheerleader, or a sports star. Beats learning and thinking and working and all the other silly things people do who would pony up the cash this career bimbo is seeking.

Was there any damage to the rail? Sounds like the city may have a suit there.

Mader blamed a "design flaw or oversight" at the playground. She said she was supervising the child and that the railing support beam Konrad collided with is green and blends in with the landscaping. She said it should be painted a brighter color.

By Golly, Momma is right. A two-year old would instinctively know not to run right into the hot pink rail.

(eye roll)

"Konrad was using this equipment and space as it was intended and was hurt," Mader wrote. "He was properly supervised. This accident was preventable had the railings and safety measures been correct at this park."

Maybe the mom ought not to let her child play at an improperly constructed playground?

Or maybe she ought to realize that 2 year old boys, if they are acting like 2 year old boys, will get cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc.....When they get older, often they'll get sprains and broken bones. The nature of the beast.

This is why playgrounds today are nothing but a few rope swings and a slide or two. No more monkey bars. No more teeter-totters. All of them gone because of the threat of frivilous lawsuits from morons like these.

Playgrounds today have been sanitized to the point that most kids don't want to play in them anymore.

What a sad commentary on our society.

See, perfect example of what I've been saying this morning it's the parents' fault on the two threads about increase in children with problems. One would think there must be a role or two out there for a kid with a few real stitches that would pay mom big $$$.

The mother is listed under her own name in the Greenwich phone book, no male Mader in Greenwich at all. Looks like a single mom (divorcee?) whose full time job is stage mother and is trying to game the system.

I'm sorry the kid barked his forehead at the playground, like most kids do at some time or another, but this is ridiculous. I wonder who she got to take the case? I'll ask around next week and see who'll admit to it.

It's suits like these that help bring about the nanny-state that we hate. Momma is saying she has no control or responsibility over the health and welfare of her kid and that the state should pay.

I wonder how much longer it will be before all people are sent to to dormitories for the first 21 years of their life for their own good?

Checking the name and surname I can give only my opinion that this is a sterotypical example here in Fairfield County.

I'd also put Vegas odds up that mommy and daddy are not American born citizens.

Working the system, just like a welfare queen.

Now, see, I was lucky. Mom and Dad and I figured out I was nearsighted when we were driving cross-country on vacation, they pointed out a billboard to me and I could barely see it, much less read it. I didn't run into a playground railing and get clobbered upside the head. Maybe Deena needs to see about getting Konrad to an optometrist before she starts pointing fingers at the city of Greenwich. And if his eyes are okay, he should have noticed that a green-painted metal railing looks a little bit different from grass and shrubbery...and grass and shrubbery doesn't go "clang" when you run into it. Why is it the city's fault that Konrad's a clumsy little turd?
