Roll-up of task force All-Americans activities
AR RAMADI, Iraq During the last 24 hours, Task Force All-American conducted 161 patrols, three of which were joint patrols with Iraqis, cleared two caches, conducted two cordon and searches, and dropped two joint attack direct munitions (JDAM) bombs near Khalidiyah. There were two enemy contacts today one mortar attack near Husaybah and a direct fire engagement that occurred during a cordon and search northwest of Khalidiyah.
Last night in 1st Brigades area, members of Task Force 1-16 conducted a cordon and search to kill or capture suspected foreign fighters east of Ar Ramadi along Highway 10. Coalition Forces captured eight enemy personnel and confiscated two AK-47s, a computer, and a scanner. During the course of the operation, we engaged with direct fire, wounding one insurgent. He was evacuated by air to the 28th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad. All captured personnel and confiscated equipment were evacuated to Forward Operating Base Junction City.
Soldiers from Task Force All-American continue assisting the Iraqi people in ending violence throughout the provinces. Civil military operations and joint endeavors between 82nd Airborne Division soldiers and Iraqis continue to thrive, moving Iraq closer to self-government
