Michael Jackson gets weird on 60 Minutes..tonight 7pm CBS LIVE THREAD
Posted on 12/28/2003 3:32:33 PM PST by Hillary's Lovely Legs
By special request, here is your live thread for the Wacky Michael Jackson 60 Minutes interview.
Michael Jackson is talking.
CBS' "60 Minutes" will air an interview with the pop superstar tonight, marking Jackson's first public comments since his Nov. 20 arrest on suspicion of child molestation.
Ed Bradley interviewed Jackson for about 30 minutes on Christmas Day at a hotel in Los Angeles. Bradley had been pursuing an interview with Jackson even before the molestation charges. The CBS newsman traveled to Jackson's Neverland estate last February for an interview, but Jackson got cold feet and canceled it at the last minute.
Jackson, 45, is charged with seven counts of performing lewd or lascivious acts upon a child under 14 and two counts of administering an intoxicating agent. He remains free on $3 million bail.

How interracial? Brown is dominant over blue - the only way the kids could have blue eyes is if one of the parents is actually biracial.

...ED BRADLEY: Would you allow your children to sleep in the bed with a grown man, who was not a relative, or to sleep in the bedroom? MICHAEL JACKSON: Sure, if I know that person, trust them, and love them. That's happened many times with me when I was little.

LOL !!! I read your post and had to laugh. My son, now 27, loved to watch spooky movies....vampire, Frankenstein...the older, the more of a bad B movie the better, he loved them and he was 3 or 4 years old and that was what ran every Saturday afternoon, could not tear him away from the TV. I deal in fine art and antiques and appraise personal property and real estate, and when he was a baby and toddler he went with me, everywhere ...old houses, old attics, spooky basements. Now, we were in the basement of a very old home and he was 4ish....there was an old hall tree with the mirror missing, my son looked into the place where the mirror should have been expecting to see his reflection and saw NONE !!! He screamed and yelled...it was awhile before got to the bottom of that "fit"....he thought he had become a vampire in the middle of the night because he had no reflection. He is a very well adjusted young man now and able to tolerate sunlight .

I posit that just the sleepovers he openly admits to is abuse in and of itself....
Agreed! And it's incredibly inept to admit to that much. Guilty or innocent--he shows failure to process risk assessment, as well as right and wrong, adequately. Most people cannot get away with having both circuits misfire at once for brief periods of time. He's had them both misfiring for years.
Whether he has actually molested anyone or not may be impossible to prove...but letting it look so bad is self-destructive in either case.
To: Delta 21
At what point did that adorable little black boy snap? He is beautiful. Nice eyes, smile and so normal and happy looking. What happened? What happened to him as a child? Who abused him? Why did he grow up and want to change everything about his face? His nose, eyes and mouth? To only become a cartoon of himself? Was it his father? One of his brothers? His agent? His Mother or sisters? Who abused this child enought to make him "mad"? Not defending his actions but he speaks of his lost childhood...who made him grow up...they are just as guilty as MJ.

Excellant Omelette.
Now for my 2cents on what ever is possesing the once very talented young musician MJ.
I firmly believe he has been taken over spiritually by demons.
Therefore he is not in control of his mental judgement.
I think he has sold his soul. Is it to late to reconcile and be well. Only God knows.
Neverland ranch would serve well as an
Asylum for all child stars now adult in denial ect....
Before I would allow it to be used for children or any sane human I would say it needs to be exorcised of the demons and cut dowm that damn majical tree.
Now the only thing I do not knnow is are the demons just in MJ mind making him ill or are they running rampant around Never Never Land too.
If one does not believe in demonic possesion than you could simply label MJ a man trapped in a deviant psycosis due to a chemical imbalance.
Any way you put it he is living in another deminsion.
Reminds me of a special freind who is not actively in my life who asked to talk to me this morning.
He was so far gone mentally it was sad.
Induced by drugs/meth he kept asking me if I could see the demons I then prayed with him at his request and held him tightly then he rolled up on the floor and asked if I would read the Holy Bible to him which I did and he fell asleep. I pray he gets professional help.
Now was it the pyschosis due to meth and how many days he had been awake or was he really seeing demons in his psychotic state.
My freind is a gentle soul he was so scared he asked me to walk him to the bathroom and wait because there were windows along the way and the demons were looking in.
Watching MJ I feel he is a very mentally ill man just like my freind but MJ does not have the same demons.
Very Sad and heartbreaking.

He is an apt symbol of how all our children have lost normal childhood. Freaks in the mall whose pants are sagged and whose skin is pierced were once innocent little babies. Girls are wearing words across their backside we were never allowed to say.

Agree...BUT if our children have lost direction and childhood it is our fault for not taking charge and not teaching them manners, respect and proper decorum. One cannot blame the children if they are savages, one must look to their parents, community and schools. If a child cannot find direction at home or school they are lost. An we are a lesser civilization with each lost child, each child that cannot read or do simple math or has a child at 13 or drops out of school...they become our "child" for life.

I never was a fan of MJ but could not deny his popularity and cast off his weirdness due to the obscene amount of money that he had. The silver gloved wave from the gurney when he caught his hair on fire was telling to me that he was deeply disturbed and would capitalize any situation for his popularity.
Any publicity is not necessarily good publicity.
I stopped feeling sorry for him and his family after I read this.

This guy(?), Michael Jackson, looks like a girl, sounds like a girl, uses lipstick and copious amounts of eye makeup, a girl's hairstyle and dresses like a clown, then goes on national TV and repeats obvious lies ("there were 80 police searching my bedroom, but nobody but police were in the house" and "the police dislocated both my shoulders and bruised my upper forearm with handcuffs") and then expects us to believe that he isn't some kind of weirdo that might do some pretty strange things to little kids???
What's up with that?

He is disturbed, and might be insane....but what made him so? He is a curosity, and has made himself a freak in a modern-day sideshow, why? He had opportunity and money and talent?....No, I am not defending, just wondering why.

I wonder how many of his personal entourage would stick around if the paychecks dried up? He has an unimaginable amount of money and was probably never ever told "NO".
It was 30 something years since the breakup of the Jackson Five until he molested his first child (that we know of), and somewhere between 15 and 40 Million dollars made that "OK".

You know, I remember when this kid was just a kid. All the talk from the commentators at the time said Micheal was "an old soul"...they all said he was an old man in a young man's body...
Funny that now they all say he is an innocent child, in a man's body!

You got it shermy! This happened to him with his brothers and ole slimy "Joseph". LaToya told in her book about the father's molestation of her and her sisters. I think Joseph the control freak, may have used sex as a control tactic with all his children. The mother was and is a complete floor mat where this man is concerned! She let him walk all over her and her children.
Micheal didn't have a chance. The deck was stacked against him. He would be much better off to admitt what happened to him as a child, and admitt what he has done. It would go better for him in the eyes of the public, which is so important to him. No one really believes that he is innocent. His lawyer is not giving him good advice. Admit the problem and seek treatment....public will forgive and forget.

Not defending his actions but he speaks of his lost childhood...who made him grow up...they are just as guilty as MJ. No, they are not as guilty as he is for molesting children. When he became an adult he assumed responsibility for his actions.
I think it is more likely that his bizzare behavior is due to having too much power at too young an age. The fate of the Jackson family was in Michael's hands from the time he was a child. Everyone had to give Michael what he wanted. He was never refused or denied.
To: woofie
Oh dear, the poor pedophile ... er Michael ...
"... But the love of money is the root of all evil." Indeed Michael. You thought money would give you a free reign on molesting selecting kids. You picked the most screwed up families hoping that your "reputation" would over shadow theirs ... and of course in 93' you paid out 20 million. Now why would someone pay 20 million if innocent? And why can't you talk about it? THIS time you don't have that option so you are forced to face the music, you freak. You're not fooling anyone.
Ah, prisoners will LOVE you. If you thought your arrest was uncomfortable. Wait till the guys get a hold of a pedaphile.

All the Monday morning shows are regurgitating the Jackson interview. It's entertainment more than news, and shame on CBS for blurring the lines even more.
All Jackson's police abuse charges are just plain silly, I can't believe Bradley didn't challenge them, but for the morning pundits to take them seriously is maddening.
Hello!!! Geragos was with Jackson when he was booked.
And about being locked in a feces laded latrine for 45 minutes, the entire booking process didn't take that long.
Someone this morning made a good point. He said Jackson may have a sore shoulder and a bruised wrist, but no doubt he got it after he was booked, when he was out riding around in his limo, reaching out the window to shake hands with fans.

The post-interview MJ talk is on talkradio now; hey MJ, if you haven't been able to raise your arms since the police
allegedly manhandled you, how come you were able to easily wave at the people on your way out? And you were locked in the dirty bathroom for 45 minutes but didn't yell and scream to be let out--you just meekly said, "It's OK"
when they asked you what you thought of the bathroom?
And I haven't heard of MJ's lawyer suing the police for such treatment (maybe they have but I didn't hear of it)...
Police brutality! Police brutality! :)

In 1988, Frank Zappa's album Broadway the Hard Way featured a tune mocking Jackson, "Why Don't you Like Me?"
Even then, FZ (and we) could tell what kind of a weirdo
MJ was becoming: "Michael is Janet/ Janet is Michael/
I'm so confused now--who is Diana?"... "'Am I really that bad?'...'He's BAD, He's BAD...'"
"He's oxygenated, his nose is deflated"
"And he thinks he looks good to you..."

I watched MJ the Drama Queen last night on 60 Minutes, and I think either he is incredibly crafty, incredibly stupid or incredibly clueless. (or more likely, a combination of the three)No other explanation for that passel of lies and used food that was foisted off on America at the behest of CBS.
From what I understand, the interview was arranged by the entertainment division of CBS. I don't know if that's truth or rumor though.

watched MJ the Drama Queen last night on 60 Minutes, and I think either he is incredibly crafty, I think his marriage and his recent conversion to Islam qualifies as crafty, in the sense that I think MJ is trying to create a lot of noise and distractions. As long as the issue is about Michael Jackson alone, he knows he doesnt have a prayer. He knows hell probably be doing hard time in the slam. But if he brings Islam into this, he turns the whole issue into a race and religion thing. He broadens the war. Hes counting on the media treading carefully around his conversion to Islam. He knows he can play the race card. Hes counting on all kinds of celebrities crawling out of the woodwork to defend him and on Muslims defending a brother against the mans accusations.
Some brother he is!
To: mhking; All
My conclusion from this interview is that Michael Jackson is not a fit parent. He isn't in control of himself, much less able to father (or mother) his children. He's a hypocrondriac, crybaby, mental case.
Michael Jackson says his Ranch home is such a mess that he doesn't have the heart to return to it to live there anymore...this is a biggie. He will, however, return to Neverland for a visit.
Is he setting the stage for a permanent move out of the country? Where is he going to Live if not at the Ranch? The excuse that Neverland was trashed by the cops, and he can't EVER live there because of it, only makes me think he is going to sell it to pay off his legal fees.
BTW, what does Michael Jackson employ a staff of domestic workers for, if not to clean up the place? (end of rant :~)

MJ: Then one time, I asked to use the restroom. And they said, "Sure, it's right around the corner there." Once I went in the restroom, they locked me in there for like 45 minutes. There was doo doo, feces thrown all over the walls, the floor, the ceiling. And it stunk so bad. Then one of the policemen came by the window. And he made a sarcastic remark. He said, "Smell does it smell good enough for you in there? How do you like the smell? Is it good?" And I just simply said, "It's alright. It's okay." So, I just sat there, and waited. EB: For 45 minutes?
MJ: Yeah, for 45 minutes. About 45 minutes. And then then one cop would come by, and say, "Oh, you'll be out in in a second. You'll be out in a second." Then there would be another 10 minutes added on, then another 15 minutes added on. They did this on purpose.
He must have spent all his time in the bathroom because his bail was paid and he was out of the police station in less than an hour. How many cops in that station use the bathroom with "doo doo" on the floor and walls? Geez Mikey, you're so freakin' wierd and a liar as well.

Yeah, I had read that on the smoking gun. Makes me sick! Sounds like Jackson too, doesn't it? Crying when the kid didn't like the tongue, and saying, "you don't love me!".
But, the thing that strikes me about that deposition is the language used. What kid would use that kind of language? What kid would say,
"another of his young friends"? He would just say, "another kid" or something like that. What kid would use the "m" word for self gratification, and say "climax"?
It was pretty clear that this was written by an adult, yet it is in the first person.
I don't know anything about depositions. Is it okay if they are rewritten by the lawyer to put it in clearer language, as long as the subject signs it as accurate?

Geragos was with Jackson when he was booked. Indeed, as was a slew of media waiting outside, capturing a smiling Jackson waving to the crowd. Either I heard or read that Geragos actually thanked the police for their hospitality afterwards and that the entire booking was videotaped. Will try and find it.
When MJ was escorted into the station, I noticed he twiced raised his cuffed hands and questioned whether it was for the cameras. I suspect if there was any injury, it was self-inflicted by that maneuver.
Sorry I missed the morning shows and wonder if there were any negative comments about Geragos allowing this "I am a brutalized victim" BS to further muddy the waters.
