Supporters and opponents of gun control said the background checks are doing what they were intended to do: cut off gun sales to felons

and others who cannot legally possess firearms.

That means about everyone or anyone they want.

Delawares only purpose is to keep Maryland and New Jersey from touching.

"The argument that criminals don't follow the laws so these laws don't work is clearly full of holes," said Rob Wilcox, spokesman for the gun-control advocacy group the Brady Campaign...

What a liar. Ever hear of something called a "straw purchase" Mister Wilcox? It's how many thugs get the guns they want.

I support criminal control, not gun control.

felony tresspassing

Felony trespassing?!!?

Can we just make failure to use a seat-belt a felony and be done with it???

I was denied a pistol that I attempted to purchase several years ago by the background check. Turned out a stop sign ticket never got to my correct address so my driver's license got revoked and they wouldn't let me purchase a gun either.

So I didn't use the spell checker - get off my back, Laz!!!! LOL - glad you caught it, I sure didn't.

They might as well make not wearing a seat belt a felony - everything else is a crime of one sort or another in Delaware.

I hope you got that straightened out without too much difficulty.

What really torqued me with my husband's situation was that the mistake was the state's fault. I don't believe it has changed, but at the time there was no background check requirement in Delaware for purchase of a shotgun at a retailer, but there was at a pawn shop. So even though the weapon belonged to my husband and was legally purchased a background check was required for him to retake posession of it.

Getting the state to clear up their mistake was an absolute nightmare. The State Police Captain I dealt with for weeks was an absolute angel in offering us information and names to call, etc, and the pawn shop owner was also an ace. His hands were tied, but could have stuck with his "storage charge" policy and charged us several hundred bucks for the length of time it took us to straighten out the mess - he waived all the charges.

Just let it ride. The mental patient part seems legit! So give up.

I hope that was intended as satire rather than just coming across as satire.

Postscript: To this day, Motorhead is still too traumatized to use paragraph markers.
