IDIOTIC MEDIA QUOTES FROM THE YEAR'S BIGGEST MEDIA IDIOTS -- The U.S. Media Biased? Never!
ICONOCLAST ^

Posted on 12/29/2003 6:49:51 PM PST by BurkesLaw

" If she had lived, Mary Jo Kopechne would be 62 years old. Through his tireless work as a legislator, Edward Kennedy would have brought comfort to her in her old age."

- Charles Pierce in a January 5 Boston Globe Magazine article. Kopechne drowned while trapped in Kennedy's submerged car off Chappaquiddick Island in July 1969, an accident Kennedy did not report for several hours.

"I decided to put on my flag pin tonight - first time. Until now I haven't thought it necessary to display a little metallic icon of patriotism for everyone to see....I put it on to take it back. The flag's been hijacked and turned into a logo - the trademark of a monopoly on patriotism.... "When I see flags sprouting on official lapels, I think of the time in China when I saw Mao's Little Red Book on every official's desk, omnipresent and unread. But more galling than anything are all those moralistic ideologues in Washington sporting the flag in their lapels while writing books and running websites and publishing magazines attacking dissenters as un-American....I put this on as a modest riposte to men with flags in their lapels who shoot missiles from the safety of Washington think tanks, or argue that sacrifice is good as long as they don't have to make it....I put it on to remind myself that not every patriot thinks we should do to the people of Baghdad what bin Laden did to us."

- Bill Moyers on PBS's Now, February 28.

"The size of the demonstrators, at least here, at least in Europe, seems to underscore, Chris, that there are now perhaps two world superpowers. There's the United States and then there are those millions of people who took to the streets opposing U.S. policy."

- MSNBC's David Shuster to Hardball host Chris Matthews, February 17. .......

Only if they were both trapped on a frozen ice planet and she needed to cut him open and crawl inside to stay warm.

Mary Jo: "And I thought he smelled bad on the outside."

Bill Moyers on PBS's Now, February 28.

Bill Moyers is without a doubt the "white Jesse Jackson"!

This pseudo-intellectual media bum has suckled on the PBS teat for decades.

This arrogant dunce astounds me!

His intellectual curiosity is extinct - as extinct as his common sense - as extinct as his patriotism.

I lack the words to adequately describe my disgust with his statement!

I can only imagine that this man's mind is as oppressed and compressed as the people of Iraq under the deadly thumb of Saddam Hussein.

Archie Bunker, I guess, most aptly described a man like Moyers as a "meathead" - dead from the neck up!

Yup........Archie had it right.

I know a good many 62 year olds who are able, fit and can take care of themselves. Isn't it also presumptious that she would need the help of an old drunken letcher at age 62?

Mike Taibbi in Baghdad: "...While Saddam's regime brutalized women - rape, torture, even beheadings - his secular government also gave women more rights than their counterparts in many other Islamic countries."

How much worse can it get in the other countries when getting raped, tortured and beheaded is the acme of treatment of women?

Once when Siegfried (Bernie Koppel) was a bad guy on Get Smart, and he was doing his best to hunt down and kill Smart and Agent 99, he was thwarted and smart killed one of Siegfried's accomplices. Siegfried said, "That does it! No more Mr. Nice Guy!"

These must have been Saddam's thoughts when those people [including the women that he raped, tortured and beheaded] toppled his statue...no more Mr. Nice Guy!

Pierce can't seem to remember that although never charged, Kennedy by all accounts was drunk when he left behind the wheel.

But then again, it's a *personal* murder issue with democrats and we aren't supposed to pay attention.

Right. And, a good reminder that, even when drunk, bums will go to extraordinary lengths to get a bit of "nookie". Teddieboy wasn't driving across that deserted, pitch-black bridge to go grunnion hunting !!

Kennedy's actions following the incident are so humanly shameful that they "fall beyond the pall".

HNY to all.

Teddy: we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
