A Dissenting Student Hounded For His Views

Tim Bueler recently received some unusual advice: His principal and a campus police officer suggested that he stay home from his California high school for a few days.

They feared for his safety because Tim, the founder of Rancho Cotate High School's new Conservative Club, said he had received threats from other students after writing an article for the club newsletter calling for a crackdown on illegal immigration. The 17-year-old junior says that stance inspired threats from which teachers have refused to protect him. Some faculty members even started a public campaign against his group, which seeks to promote "the pillars of the Bible, patriotism and conservative beliefs as balance to the mostly liberal viewpoints of teachers," according to its newsletter, "The Conservative Agenda."

Also the reason liberals don't want you to have 2nd Ammendment rights either. Without equal protection for this young man, the situation could spiral out of control VERY quickly.

Abolish public schools. It would immediately eliminate most of these types of problems.

Maybe he'll put this in his news letter and get banned from publick skewl.

Wake Up

I’d like to take a moment,
I need to bend your ear.
We need to fix a broken thing,
The time to do so’s here.
America the melting pot,
It’s how we got this far.
But many want to change that now,
By lowering the bar.
No need to learn our history,
Or learn what we’re about.
Just speak your native language,
Complain we leave you out.
You have no right to be here now,
Feeding off this nation.
We need to stop the influx of,
Illegal immigration.

Or this one will get his descendants banned too!

Stop

America is sliding fast,
It’s time for us to save her.
We’re letting people from outside,
Cripple and enslave her.
Illegals from a thousand lands,
Just walk across our borders.
It’s time to say, “We’ve had Enough”,
And issue our new orders.
Stop the waste and give aways,
To those who have no right.
To be here in the first place,
This problem we must fight.
I’m sure you know we have no choice,
Our Government is lame.
Republicans and Democrats,
Have now become the same.
So what I ask from each of you,
Get up out of that chair.
Write or call your public servants,
Your vote put them there.
Demand they act and act today,
To save our land, our nation.
It has to stop and stop today,
Illegal Immigration.

This is not a 1st Amendment issue because he, in fact, published the newsletter, and therefore the school has not deprived him of a 1st Amendment right. What this case is about is Equal Potection of the laws under the 5th and 14th Amendmends in that the school and its agents are depriving this boy of equal educational oppurtunities soley because of his political beliefs. I know most of you hate lawyers, but with the right one, I can smell big bucks under 42 USCS 1983.

The names of the teachers and the name of the school need to be made public. These reachers names need to be publicized in as many places as possible..

The faculty seems like Ferris's principal. Do you suppose they could be brothers? But how does Ben Stein fit into this scenario?

I think that this kid is great. Gives me hope for the future. Sure, he deserves equal protection, but if he can't stand the heat, he should've stayed out of the kitchen. The establishment doesn't like it when people stand up for themselves and announce that the emperor is naked. Even better, it looks like he's taken the lesson to heart and didn't allow himself to be silenced.

Forty school staff members signed a letter to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat calling on the Conservative Club to back up its accusations that students are being indoctrinated. "They've made all these sweeping statements about liberal teachers warping the curriculum, but as a science teacher, I'd like to see some evidence," said Mr. Alton, who co-authored the letter

Even better.....an invitation to debate. I hope that he picks up the gauntlet. I haven't seen too many liberal positions that can stand up to logic and/or close scrutiny.

FFor some folks, I suppose. I cannot read a piece of more than a few lines if it has too many errors because my mind must stop and correct the problems. And many errors actually change the meaning of a sentence, sometimes pretty radically. If one is paying attention to the article and what it actually proposes rather than just skimming it for a general impression then these errors destroy the usefulness of the article.

Misspellings and bad grammar in informal comments are bad enough. In a published piece they are insufferable.
