For many, we are now discovering, proving really what we have always believed, it was the right person, but sadly, at the wrong time.

That has been the bane of my experience. The one that got away still acts in movies here in L.A. There are some times when you just have to grow up,get into gear and I wasn't ready. 11 years later now in 2003, I'm 100% fully in gear and am simply waiting for God to put someone in my way, as I work waaaaay too much and just go along my merry little way, smiling to myself. There's nothing more lamentable, than finally being comfortable in your own skin, and being single. Life is good though, very good, and I am not complaining, just speaking in facts. All in due time I tell you, all in due time.

I cooked a brisket like you said and it was very tender. Thanks to Carlo anf Mylife.
I'm going to need to work on the flavor and I am really new at cooking and I like the brisket flavor w/o any thing added to it.
Opening a can of chillie is about all the cooking I do until now.
Thanks again you guys.

I didn't notice the author of this piece, but I just knew it had to be carlo. Happy New Year my FRiend! Ohhhh I would so love to see some of my first loves, but alas they are all pushing up daisies. Besides, I'm so deeply in love with my best friend, my husband, that life is good and blessed.

If you love something, set it free.
If it comes back, it was, and always will be yours.
If it never returns, it was never yours to begin with.

If it just sits in your living room,
messes up your stuff,
eats your food,
uses your telephone,
takes your money,
and never behaves as if you actually set it free in the first place,
you either married it or gave birth to it!

WHEN we two parted
In silence and tears,
Half broken-hearted
To sever for years,
Pale grew thy cheek and cold,
Colder thy kiss;
Truly that hour foretold
Sorrow to this.

The dew of the morning
Sunk chill on my brow—
It felt like the warning
Of what I feel now.
Thy vows are all broken,
And light is thy fame:
I hear thy name spoken,
And share in its shame.

They name thee before me,
A knell to mine ear;
A shudder comes o'er me—
Why wert thou so dear?
They know not I knew thee,
Who knew thee too well:
Long, long shall I rue thee,
Too deeply to tell.

In secret we met—
In silence I grieve,
That thy heart could forget,
Thy spirit deceive.
If I should meet thee
After long years,
How should I greet thee?
With silence and tears.

-George Gordon Byron, Lord Byron. 1788–1824

My first love was a girl named Desiree. I lost her through the "help" of someone I considered a friend. I moved on, married, had 3 wonderful children that i wouldn't trade for anything, but now, after being divorced for 13 years, I do think about her. I have no idea where she is. She married the guy she left me for. I know it's better to leave things as they are, the memories are much sweeter than reality would be, I fear.

So what am I doing? corresponding with another gal named Desiree (not the same one) that found my profile on one of the matching sites. She even goes by the same nickname. Too early to tell if there's anything there, but it makes me smile to think I might have my Desiree after all....

Thanks for the ping. Yikes, this is a tough one, but I honestly would never go back to an old love. If I want a headache I will bang my head on the wall. :) IF, and that's a mighty big IF, I were ever to get married again, it would be to a man who is terrified of dying, because if he ever cheated on me he would surely die. LOL

Happy New Year FRiend. God Bless you and yours! (((((Carlo)))))

Don't think I have ever had a "true love", although I was infatuated with someone in high school. Never even really knew her although I tried talking to her a couple of times, but everything came out very awkward, and I never got a date with her. She problably thought I was weird. I remembered her name, and actually looked her up in the phonebook when I returned to my home town 12 years after high school. What's weird is she was actually listed. I wasn't going to call her at all but thought about her, and 2 years later I dialed her digits, and even weirder still I actually started talking to her. She did not remember me, or said she didn't anyway , and said my phone call was "too weird". After a few agonizing minutes of trying to jog her memory , she still had me pegged as some "weirdo" that was problably stalking her, and I ended the conversation; worst one of my entire life. How weird was that?

All of that aside, everyone wants and needs love, and maybe over time we have set up too many conditions that prevent anyone from entering our heart, or our lives.

Wishing you >>--LOVE--> for the New Year... :)

Happy New Year, Carlo! Tuesday evening, I tested for and was awarded my White Belt in Tae Kwan Do! I started it on the 19th of December after three months of Adkins Dieting that stripped off 45 lbs. Now, I am combining Adkins and TKD to move on towards my ultimate goal of 65-75 lbs reduction. I am halfway there and feeling fine!
