Housing has always been
too expensive. There are years when it is a better value to sell than to buy. The problem is determining those years in advance. If you figure out how to do in real estate or the stock market you will be a successful market timer.
In the meantime he needs a home to live in. I would advise finding the nicest neighborhood to accomodate the upscale positions he and his wife are taking. You know, the positions that are paying them to relocate. The postitions that are so extraordinary they are moving across the country.

I just bought a 4000+sq house with more then an acre, a pool and a stream for a little more then half that. Oh yeah there is a nice lake across the street.
