In fact, i think, we have two commons points.
We are arrogant - ;) - and we think integrist muslims are the main threaten over the world today. I'm not muslim (thanks god !!!)

My first post was a reaction to the "France's arrogance".
A lot of posts speak about French's arrogance and i'm not understand.
Because, France is a little country, it is arrogant to dispute US actions. If it was chinese or Russia , US does not consider them arrogant...
But, it's not very important, it's a detail.

About relationship between US and France, i regret the frontal opposition of france against bush's administration.
Some of french think that French Government would have to remain neutral. A french news paper, said DGSE (=CIA), try to kill Saddam in 1999. True ou not true , i don't know ? But French government have the same but that US, but differently.

As opposed to what you think, french people always consider Americans as friends and allies...Not Americans today..."Dommage"

Yes, US are the most powerful country, french people does not say the opposite...?!

Yes Oil is essential, Iraki's oil belongs to iraki not to US...

Any reasonable reading of events shows that the actions of France and Russia were far more influenced by Iraqi oil than those of the U.S. France wanted to take down the embargos so as to gain more access to the oil (beyond what they'd gotten through questionable arrangements with Hussein) and oil money. Russia wanted to keep the embargos to keep oil prices up. If the U.S. really wanted the oil that badly, they'd have just bought more - but there was a principle at stake.

Do you recall after the main fighting when France then reversed its stance and opposed dropping sanctions until it was proven there were no WMDs in Iraq?

Then there's the issue of the Iraqi oil money being run through France as long as the oil-for-food program was in effect - which is not too big of a leap to explain France's inconsistancy

Most of European think, that the US military controlled of Iraq, is not for the free of Iraqi, but for their oil !

Just to show you how dumb that concept is, answer this question. When the US "occupied" Kuwait in the first Gulf War, why didnt the US military confiscate all Kuwait oil? Facts speak louder than nonsense...

Ok, ok right, but in 1991 , all the world was at the side of US.
I will not to polemize about the military intervention of US in Iraq.
I understands that the US have needs to fix their influence in the area. So happily, it succeed in bringing back stability in this area, all the world will acclaim you. So good luck and oil is secondary and will be the reconpense.
