Frankly, I have more respect for a free country, where people can be who they are, and a free press, which can publish whatever announcements they feel appropriate. Maybe it's you who don't get it.

A free country still has laws. I am against same sex unions being called marriages. I am against more than two entering into marriage as practiced in some religions.

The reasons I'm against these practices being called marriage is more societal than religious, although our society has roots in the Judaeo-Christian religion.

The laws are not fair in many ways. A heterosexual couple that is living together is not allowed insurance that a homosexual couple is given just for saying they are a couple. Yet, you could be taking care of a person not related to you because you are good friends and not be able to use your insurance for someone in your household unless you are gay.

If a person can prove that they are taking care and responsible for another unrelated person, then why can't they use insurance for the other person. But the way it is set up, any so called "gay couple" can use the insurance, but two buddies that are not "gay" cannot help each other.

Two gays may be a couple, but it is not a marriage and there is no reason it cannot be listed in the newspapers as a civil union and not as a marriage.

This newspaper is trying to make news, not report the news.

Very good point. Could be said about almost every newspaper every day. But about the "gay" agenda in particular.
