Another home run from Michelle Malkin!
Unfortunately, it's just ink on a page (or electrons on a screen.) Her, and those with similar concerns, will be ignored by the powers that be. Unless somehow conservatives can find some way to quickly mobilize and make their voices heard - and it doesn't look like that will happen.
The bureaucrats call this scheme "totalization." Try total prostration.
Well said.

Not surprising. I thought I'd seen you're arguments before.
To: CWOJackson
BTW, can you answer the question I posed earlier regarding how many immigrants do we allow yearly entry without degrading our standard of living? 500,000? 1,000,000? 15,000,000? 25,000,000? 40,000,000? 100,000,000? Keeping in mind the "sinking boat" scenario. And BTW, I don't care if they're from Mexico or Scotland (my heritage).

Cheap shot - knowing it was a self-effacing joke.

Of course it was self effacing and accurate.

Watch the polls after tomorrow's big speech. Bush's numbers will drop dramatically. I hope he sinks to 10%. A sure, swift drop in the polls is probably the ONLY thing that will stop this amnesty fiasco. The remaining question: Which of the Democrat candidates will be smart enough to take advantage of this issue?

You didn't answer my question above - as all open border advocates don't.

Of course not...you question is driven my emotion and personality, and not concerned with actual fact.
Some people think one is too many, some think a million. It's realitive.
To: A Navy Vet
And you never will put a number on it, because ALL immigration is good, even though the country is already built. And please don't give me the old standby that, "who will pick our crops or mow our lawns". If you're from anywhere the Southwest, you would see the hundreds of "day laborers" standing on street corners and vacant lots looking for work. We have enough third world immigrants to pick the crops, many of the others are taking up prison space or closing down our hospitals. Do some homework.

And you've arrived to relieve me? Cool. I could never hold a candle to you in that catagory.

"Of course not...you question is driven my emotion and personality, and not concerned with actual fact. Some people think one is too many, some think a million. It's realitive."
That didn't answer my question and you're wrong about my motives. I'm driven my what's practical and in the best interest of our standard of living. Don't try to pigeon-hole me into some kind of emotional bigot. I've seen my "Golden State" turn into a third world country in many areas. These are facts, not emotions.

Which is all subjective. What "you" consider in the best interest of "our" standard of living might not be what "I" consider in "our" best interest.
To: A Navy Vet
One other thing, I'm not some whacko conspritist, but I do have eyes and ears and see that our leaders are turning this wonderful and unique human contract into a mob rule democracy from a representative Republic...soley for the benefit of their own incumbency...which the Founding Fathers neither envisioned nor sactioned. America has been degenerating from a constitutional republic into a democracy for a hundred years, at least, though it wasn't the norm to refer to America as a "democracy" until the regime of Uncle Joe Stalin's good buddy FDR. In a democracy, politicians are by definition demagogues and will sacrifice the long-term interests of the nation for short-term political gain. You are correct, the framers of the U.S. Constitution repeatedly warned against "democracy."

"Which is all subjective. What "you" consider in the best interest of "our" standard of living might not be what "I" consider in "our" best interest."
Uh no, a standard of living viewed within the context of the traditional American "dream" is very objective. However, you are entitled to your interpretation.
Again, how many immigrants do we let in yearly before we become another India or Bangeledesh, with the the poverty and crime associated with dense population? 1,000,000? 15,000,000? 25,000,000? 80,000,000? 150,000,000? 300,000,000? Pick a number anywhere or in between.

I don't but would you care to recommend yours?
To: JohnHuang2
Here is the text of the email I sent to the White House this morning:
Dear President Bush,
My parents came here LEGALLY over 30 years ago. They just started receiving Social Security a few years ago after working since they immigrated. Please do not give Social Security benefits to illegal aliens. It is a slap in the face to us legal immigrants who did things by the rules and who waited patiently to immigrate to this country and 5 years more to become citizens.
I am a Catholic Filipino married to a Hispanic (Mexican - American born in the US) who has supported you in the past. We are both Republicans. I am a relatively new Republican. I was set to volunteer for your re-election campaign this year. I don't know if I will anymore.
Sincerely,
.....
