Saddam looks bad, but man--the war was sure tough on the soldier holding him!

Poor, little mass-murderer, being so oppressed and helplessly manhandled makes my eyes all teary. Sniff.

Why is the soldier's face blurred? Looks like Agent Smith may have got a hold of him.
To: AxelPaulsenJr
Likely to hide his identity from angry Ba'athists.
Someone needs to Photoshop Bush's or Rummy's head in the space anyway.
To: AxelPaulsenJr
Why is the soldier's face blurred?Because he may face a load of trouble for posing with his "war trophy."
To: AxelPaulsenJr
Standard operating procedure to protect the identity of special operations soldiers. What they do could make their families targets for terrorists out for revenge.

Or even a teary-eyed Howard Dean or Jacques Chirac wailing over the scene of Saddam's crucifixion.

I'm thinking this photo was Photo-shopped. Hard to believe they would have had a camera on site to document this as they didn't even know it was him until several hours after they dragged him out.
But if the photo is genuine...good job.

Good Pic of Saddam.

I read an article that did say everything was documented with photographs. This was done, to preserve evidence, if and when it proved to be Saddam. If it hadn't been Saddam, then no one every would have heard about the hole in the ground, let alone seen this picture.
(Remember Jessica Lynch's rescue, that was recorded on film, as it happened.)

Hard to believe they would have had a camera on site to document this as they didn't even know it was him until several hours after they dragged him out. They did know that it was a HVT mission. In any case, I would think that cameras are a standard part of the SOP documentary arsensal.

Hard to believe they would have had a camera on site to document this as they didn't even know it was him until several hours after they dragged him out. They had a pretty good idea it was him. After all, it was Saddam they had been sent to look for. I would imagine there were dozens if not hundreds of photos taken, but the brass have been keeping them back.
I think his hair has a believeable gravity tug in the direction of the ground. But what would I know? If Micheal Rivero were here he'd be pointing out all the visual clues that "prove" the photo was actually taken before 9/11, in the main floor men's room of the Bellagio.
