When his Daddy broke his no new tax pledge, it was a punch in the gut to those who elected him. Somehow I feel the son just delivered a punch in the gut to me and many others who helped to elect him and in that election more than any other we the individuals voters feel he would not have been elected if not for our individual vote. Well, he may be able to afford to punch some voters in the gut if he were assured that Dean would be his opponent. But ol' Wesley Clark is more wily than angry and Clark could be a formidable candidate. Clark represents the proverbial choice of the devil we don't know. There are many Americans who might choose the devil that they don't know.

The difference is that this President didn't break a pledge. He's been saying since the 2000 campaign that he supported a guest worker program. If you voted for him thinking otherwise, it was your mistake.

That might be one of the reasons behind the strategerie of tackling this now. The more this is thrashed out in the forum of public opinion, the less of a nebulous campaign issue it will be.

When his Daddy broke his no new tax pledge,

No new taxes Vs No new Texans.

It looks more and more like the Clark/Hillary!™ ticket will be a shoe in...

"When his Daddy broke his no new tax pledge, it was a punch in the gut to those who elected him."

When his "Daddy" broke his "read my lips" pledge, he did it as a trade out to Congress for some much-needed budget cuts.

The end result was the realization of the Reagan economic plan, and the greatest period of economic prowess in U.S. history.

Those of us who actually understand government, understood his sacrifice, those of you who have no clue, reacted by handing this period of economic boom to a Democrat, and your legacy will be forever known as the Clinton administration.

Now, after constant bitching about the Federal government not taking any action to get the issue of illegal immigration under control, you will likewise reward Bush's courage in actually taking some steps, with rancor.

Dubya has not broken a pledge. He has always talked about a guest worker program. Where has he broken a pledge?

Anyone who will vote for ANY dim, is voting in favor of the terrorists. That is who/what the dims support.

clark is as big a weasel as any of the others, if not more so. He has flipped so many times, (as have the others) that he has rug burns.

I may not like all aspects of this plan. But the actual implementation is up to Congress.
