Welcome home Zack

The little Lamont boy battling a brain tumor returned home to Kern County Tuesday afternoon.

The Fritz family gathered around little Zack Fritz as he arrived home.

Zack had been at the UCLA Medical Center for seven weeks for treatment on a brain tumor.

Shortly before Christmas, his tiny lung was punctured during surgery as doctors tried to insert a tube, near his heart to make it easier to deliver medication.

Kevin Fritz, Zack's dad, said the tumor itself is shrinking through radiation treatment meaning that Zack will likely avoid another brain surgery, and instead begin chemotherapy.

Last week Zack was named an honorary boy scout. He chose to wear that uniform on his trip back home.

Heart wrenching. It doesn't say in the article how old this boy is.

This story sounds vaguely familiar. I seem to remember an article about this case a while back -- apparently the family was having a difficult time getting their insurance company to pay for some kind of experimental treatment for the child's brain tumor.

There is nothing nothing nothing worse than seeing a child die of cancer. If you think some big hardened grizzled Marine (no offense to Marines) is tough you should see the incredible things some of the kids go through. Poking prodding, blood in, blood out, chemo, operations, etc, etc, etc.

I've never seen anyone want to live so much as This kid.

She touched so many of us. We miss you Abi.

There is one thing everyone can do. Get on the marrow donors list. You could save one of these kids.

Actually I originally typed that in headline and then corrected to fit what the article said. Didn't think I was crazy but wanted to be 'accurate' with respect to Author :)
