I don't see how she can take a shot at Hanson really. She says she is "appalled" but doesn't provide any specificity about what appalled her!

Hanson has been one of the truly magnificent observers of the scene over the last years. When I see a so-called "expert" make a wholly gratuitous criticism of a man of his caliber it is the "expert" who becomes suspect in my eyes.

LOL!

You certainly are an "emitter". I just won't say of what.

The article " Osama, Saddam, and the Bombs" By David Plotz, Posted Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at 5:30 PM PT was written a scant 17 days after 9/11. I would like to see Mylorie's response to this analysis by Plotz (who's he) and his characterization of Pipe's comments.

I read Mylorie's books, Bush vs the Beltway and The War Against America. She makes a very compelling case. Congress needs to launch a real investigation on Saddam's connection to both WTC bombings. Moreover, I am convinced that there was an Iraqi connection to Oklahoma City, i.e., John Doe number 2.

Then who isn't the liar? Tell me what the reliable source is.

And then tell me what this source advocates when it comes to defeating the Axis of Evil. If their plan is promising, then I might listen.

I have no quaint answers for you on that one, but here is a good place to start:

Washington's Farewell Address 1796
King James Bible

James Woolsey is quoted as saying something to the effect that years from now when the truth is known, we world will owe a debt to Laurie Mylroi.

Maybe...but I'd think the odds are equal that years from now Mylroi will be thoroughly discredited and very lucky not to be in prison.

Fine. Turn that into a soundbite: "Iraqi documents prove Mohammed Atta was planning 9/11 with the approval of the Iraqi government." Now have Administration spokesmen repeat it every day, every time Dean starts spouting off about there being no proof of Iraqi involvement in 9/11.

The uninformed might hear that. Otherwise, they are only going to hear "Bush Lied, Kids Died".

James Woolsey is quoted as saying something to the effect that years from now when the truth is known, we world will owe a debt to Laurie Mylroi.

The exact Woolsey quote on the book "The War Against America" is as follows:

"After September 11 many, including myself, believe that the attacks may be the result of a partnership between the terrorists and a state with sophisticated intelligence service and a program of biological warfare. If this proves to be true and Iraq is shown to be the terrorists' partner, there is no reason for anyone to ask, 'Why didn't someone warn us?' because Laurie Mylroie did."

Sorry, Galt. Saying that Mylroie is a phony and proving it appear to be two different things for you.

Just because you want to pretend that Saddam was some sort of choirboy to justify your head-in-the-sand attitude towards this war doesn't mean we have to live in your fantasy world.

In case you haven't heard, there's a war on.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Your contention that this administration is either ignorant of or deliberately ignoring Iran and their role in terrorism is patently false. Just a quick search found this article discussing their concerns----and this administration has a history of acting on their concerns---linked below.

Bush: Iran as military target is 'pure speculation'

A colleague with a long career in government, much of it in the Pentagon, wrote a manuscript, "Zealots and Issue-Brokers." His judgment is that maybe 1/3 of the civil service consists of people really dedicated to doing their jobs, the "zealots." The other 2/3, the "issue-brokers," are just doing what it takes to get along and otherwise advance their careers.

In my experience in state government, the number of people who were really dedicated to doing their job was closer to 10%. Maybe less.

No, I think 31 and 38 was my evidence that I found her to be a phony; in 15 I was correcting my characterization of Daniel Pipes who called her theory 'alchemy' (my word 'phony') not herself the person. I openyl accepted the mistake unlike the WMDead Enders who are undermining the war effort.

The rest of your post is just sad spinning, but let me ask you this, Mylroie is out there on the lecture circuit telling people that the country went to war because Saddam was responsible for 9/11, which is contrary to not only the White House but most people's opinions on the subject.

Isn't it fair to say she is a loose cannon if not a little off the rocker if she believes that?

Again:

I think she is a phony for making money off those who died in the WTC, OKC, and 9/11. I think she is a phony for getting paid by the McVeigh Defense team to produce evidence, only the stuff she came up with was rejected by a court of law (the conspiracy grows, eh?) which in the meantime, by putting the focus on a foreign power, took the focus off whatever the hell was going on at Elohim City, Carol Howe and Andres Strassmeir.

And of course, in the wake of the earthquake we are sending aid AND reiterating our demands that they renounce their nuclear program and turn over al Qaeda.

Bush: Iran quake relief reflects no policy change

EXCERPT:

President Bush says U.S. humanitarian assistance to Iranian quake victims doesn't signify an easing of relations with Tehran, and he demanded the Islamic nation's leaders hand over captured al Qaeda operatives and "abandon their nuclear weapons program."

Oh, bullcrap, Galt. You think she is a phony because she believes that Usama and Saddam had greater relations with each other than you or other antiwar conservatives are willing to admit.

She disagrees with you, so you believe her to be a phony. Don't hand me a lot of self-righteous pap about Mylroie making money off the dead at the WTC, or that Mylroie is automatically guilty of phoniness because she was a paid expert witness at the McVeigh trial. QED does not an assertion make.

You have a lot of intellectual capital invested in your antiwar position. An Usama/Saddam connection undermines such a position, as those of us who support the war understand all too well. Mylroie may be incorrect in asserting a Saddam connection with 9-11, as I believe her to be. There is no reason why bin Laden would break compartmentalization and operational security by letting the Moustache in on the plan. However, the facts of the larger relationship appears to have survived the scrutiny of the antiwar crowd, and it is that relationship which needed to be nipped in the bud. It is also that relationship that, to my satisfaction, justified the entire war.

Whether or not it is justified in your mind is another thing altogether.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

"Because of post-Watergate reforms, that information could not be turned over to the CIA or any other U.S. national security bureaucracy, and certainly not to foreign agencies"...

And Guess who had a hand in that watergate deal? Hillary Clinton!

She was a Saddam apologist in the '80s and was one of those neocons who ditched Bush I and switched over to Clinton in '92. Why do you trust her?

I have come to terms with the Iraqi debacle, and still have friends over there, one who does not want to be there; a bad man was removed and an often cruel, Clinton Era sanction regime has ended. The Democrats are now trying to get to the Left or Right (who knows in these strange times) by pushing for a longer commitment to rebuilding these hopeless desert states.

Trotting out tin foil hat conspiracy theories to justify your support for this war is not necessary. Anti-war conservative never expected those who were duped to simply come clean, but we are not unreasonable in asking that you simply leave it alone and move on; that is the position of the Administration as indicated by Paul Bremer who characterized the WMDead Enders who put out 'red herrings' on WMDs, and no doubt these foolish storied of Saddam and Osama, as undermining the efforts of the occupation.
