WDBO just reported had Orlando Representative Ric Keller on the radio. Basically, said he didn't like rewarding illegals immigrants with amnesty. He also mentioned an aspect that isn't being reported, the cost of having these people over here and such.

Bush will deal with the illegals and those who fail to register, HARSHLY.

After the enactment of this policy, any remaining illegals will be considered to represent a potential security threat to our great nation.

Here's the plan, but remember, Bush inherited this mess, so while it isn't perfect, it is a great beginning. Follow along:

1. Provide a means for those aliens already working in legitimate jobs for American companies or private families, and who truly deserve an American future, to properly obey and respect our laws, and let us also be kind to their families too. These are the high-profile sympathy cases that could destroy the GOP presidency if lumped in with the worst of the aliens. These hard luck stories will otherwise fill the airwaves, and many GOP and independent voters will feel the legitimate pain and suffering of such refugees. Call them the "Elians";
2. Provide a more efficient means for the next wave of good people to apply legitimately for access before they too become illegals. Call them the "Pre-emptives";
3. Bear down HARD on the remaining illegals, and begin to treat them as that: ILLEGAL. Without remorse and without shame, get rid of them. Call them the "Osamas". For the first time, given the cover of a legitimate and efficient access pathway, THERE WILL BE NO EXCUSE FOR THEIR BEHAVIOR.

So, keep the Elians, work with the Pre-Emptives, and dump the Osamas.

Come now, Freepers, you can get there, if you try.

Above is a link to the story.

Well, point well taken on the benefits . However, I do not like the prostituting of our borders by Republicans, Democrats, Greens, etc.

While I disagree with the President on this, by no means it will currently change my vote in November...he's done a good job on most issues and quite frankly, I trust him more than any current Democrat. Besides, there's no candidate out there that everyone will agree with 100% of the time...a vote to the constitutional party is a throw a vote at this point.

It's like in Poland, if they would rally around 1 center-right candidate, they would win. But no, there's a 100 parties and guys like Lech Walesa (who got no more than 2% of the vote last election if I remember correctly) are still running! If they rally around one candidate, they would win an election. While Poland's current government is thankfully working with America in the war on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, the fact still remains that the leadership is predominantly socialist.

The 55 mph speed limit was ignored by the vast majority of Americans. All were BREAKING THE LAW. It was a stupid and unworkable law.

The newly-revised speed limit acknowledges something else - REALITY.

For decades, illegal aliens have entered America and lawmakers looked the other way. Americans have embraced them, hired them and protected them. Without their support, they would have withered on the vine.

Now Bush alone did not cause this. YOUR MANY FELLOW AMERICANS DID.

You are asking George Bush to deport them all, right now. Or, just pass the buck and ignore it like everyone else. It is preposterous, but maybe you don't know it - yet.

This principled stand of suicide, the kind of tin-eared McClintock nonsense that put us into the margins for nearly a decade, is sheer political stupidity. Yeah, yeah, it is better to die than compromise...give it up.

Instead, Bush challenges the conventional thinking and saves the best of them, and loses the worst.

He has established a datum reference line, and can be hardcore on those that don't follow the rules from now on. Like raising the speed limit to a more workable level, Bush has accepted the reality that VOTING AMERICANS LIKE YOU hire these people. HE IS DEALING WITH THAT REALITY.

It is BRILLIANT, and GOP'ers failing to see this is not only expected, because most blind Conservatives could not understand the concept of an Arnold vs. the unelectable McClintock, but rather it is the ONLY likely initial response I would have expected.

I would be truly stunned if even 10% of Republicans understood the rationale now. That there is one other person on this board that 'gets it' absolutely astonishes me.

But I believe that in time this initiative will be seen as yet another stroke of bold strateregy by this remarkable President.

Thank God for President Bush.
