You are obviously just an anti-government nut...

When you have spent more than a few weeks on Free Republic, you will find that we use manners when we express ourselves. You don't need to be disagreeable to disagree.

(And, yes, I am quite a nut for limiting government only to those things which are Constitutional.)

Hi Mulder,

Well, you got me thinking (always dangerous), and found this article online regarding frangible ammunition:

http://www.thekcrachannel.com/news/972141/detail.html

My copy and paste function is messed up right now, otherwise I'd post the entire article. Basically, it describes how a frangible bullet works, and states that they are used by Air Marshalls and other airline security agents.

I have an email out to the proprietor of Guntalk, Tom Gresham, and am awaiting a response. But Tom and I have had this conversation before about frangible bullets. Hope this helps.

"As for the pilots complaints about having armed agents on board who have to pass less strenuous tests than they is required of them, I agree with their complaint."

So do I, on general principals.

But nobody seems to have addressed the biggest question that this thread has posed: Why the hell do Dept of Education and EPA (!!!) officials need to carry a concealed weapon?

They're Americans, and as such, have the same Right to do so as the rest of us.

But from the standpoint of our federal masters, because they work for the feds, they are better than the rest of us.

Thanks for the link.

I've read elsewhere that they were carrying standard hollow-points. Also, their caliber choice (357 Sig) shows that overpenetration isn't a real big concern.

The bottom line is that a few holes in the fuselage aren't a big deal.
