"America the Beautiful has begun its first campaigns in Southern Arizona’s Cochise County border area. The problem is spread across the southern border, but the ‘hot spot’ to cross into the country illegally is Cochise County. The number of people crossing nightly has been estimated at more than a 1,000. Take this number times the estimated 8 pounds of trash each illegal alien leaves behind, and this will give you an idea of the scope of the situation we face. Backpacks and clothing don’t grow in the desert nor do toothbrushes, but walk any of the trails and washes and you may question this assumption."
