Hi, I'm fairly new to FR, and there are some terms I'm confused about. I have an idea, but I want to make sure I have it right.

Well first off....posting a vanity thread such as this is the entirely wrong thing to do.While you're thirst for knowledge about the terms some of us take as second nature are admirable..... you're only asking for trouble from smart aleck Freepers who want to take advantage of your obvious innocence and have a good laugh at your expense.

I know you need some help and would have Freepmailed you the following, but since you already have this vanity thread up....maybe others can benefit from the courage you have taken ...opening yourself up, as you have to the needless slings and arrows that that less compassionate Freepers have, and will no doubt thrust upon your fragile, trusting nature......not all of us are thoughtless. Take comfort in that.

Well, anyway, here's what you do. First of all, power down your computer. After the hard drive has completely stopped spinning, unplug from the power supply, and carefully disconnect your mouse and keyboard.

Next....strip down to your underwear,if you're living in a currently cold climate...it is permissible to leave your socks on.

Having done that.....take up the mouse and keyboard in either hand, making sure you have a firm grip on both of the attached cable.

Calmly walk out the front door of your house and proceed to the front of your neighbor's bay window. Begin swinging both the mouse and keyboard over your head by the cables in a clockwise fashion. If you live south of the equator....swing them counter clockwise. (If you're not sure where you live...check to see which way your toilet flushes.)

Once you feel you are swinging them fast enough...albeit short of toppling yourself over.....Begin shouting in a sing song falsetto.......

"I Need some Help!!! This Is No Vanity!!!"..."I Need some Help!!! This Is No Vanity!!!"....."I Need some Help!!! This Is No Vanity!!!"...."I Need some Help!!! This Is No Vanity!!!"

The vehicle approaching down the street with the flashing red lights will be able to give you a hand.

It comes from a Japanese movie where some aliens are attacking. They said this and it struck many as funny, so they added it as a smartalec saying everywhere.

It is similar to "Kilroy was here" from WWII.

In view of your post, Erasmus is probably running as fast as his/her gender's restrictions will allow, or permit. If not, Erasmus is now warned and must take anything that is heaped on
