I dont have the quote from the text, but I think he originally said alQaeda and then corrected himself.

Well, articulating Clark's position at any given time is a difficult venture at the best of times. My guess would be he thinks Bush and the Neocon Cabal(TM) is behind it all somehow ...
To: Carl/NewsMax
No, no...what Clark really meant was "there is no connection between the WTC bombings and New York city..."
To: thesummerwind
That's too simpmle of a question. You see, the thing is, when you get asked questions like this, you have to put yourself in a position...
- Gen. Clark

No link here. He did correct himself after a staffer noted it to him....

" He said that there was no link betweem Ben Laden and 9/11. The he rushed back to the podium to change his statement."
You are absolutely correct. And I don't believe he blinked once through the original statement or his obligatory correction. I always feel like Wes is auditioning for a hypnotizing act at the local comedy club, when he looks into the camera.I am afraid I might start barking like a dog, when he snaps his fingers. Can you imagine what it must be like to be a passenger in a vehicle driven by Clark or Dean ? If they drive like they talk, they careen wildly down the road, then they slam on the brakes and gun it in reverse.Cervical collars should be required attire for anyone in the room with the Democrat nutjobs,to prevent verbal whiplash.
To: Shermy
No link, but it was on FNC -- both statements, the second after his 'handlers' spoke to him.

"'I did not believe then that al-Qaeda was involved in 9/11,'" Al Jazeera quoted Clark as saying. "'I do not believe it now.'"But that's exactly what I heard him say. I was so disgusted at that point that I flipped the channel :)

You're right -- he does have that deer-in-the-headlights, rabbit-in-front-of-a-ferret look. Maybe the Klintons have got him either hypnotized or highly medicated. Or perhaps he's been promised a walk in Ft. Marcy park if he f'kerrys up.

I think there was a link, but it doesn't help that the SoS and vp have recently taken opposite sides on this (and the SoS has indeed contradicted his own earlier statements on this.) I understand the proof may not rise to that in a capital case on Court TV, but really guys!!!It's long past due that you say what you do know.
To: Javelina
<1>Yah, he said there was no link between Hussein and 9/11 not between Al-Quaeda and 9/11.
Unless they KNOW of the link between Saddam and AQ, then the statement could be true.

Just think how dirty it's going to get in the next 10 months! This campaign is going to be uglier than the dreadful 'SEVEN WEEKS OF HELL' after the 2000 election.Yep, start taking your vitamins and exercising now because we're going to need the stamina.

Regardless of whether he was misquoted or misspoke, when will people like him realize that their ridiculous attacks on GWB are used against us by the enemy?
That's why being in Iraq will be a very dangerous place until after the election. Many of our best will die because WE Americans are divided by these A-holes. :-(
