but unfortunately the choice between republicans and democrats is more a tweedledee vs. tweedledum argument. the mantra of both sides falls short to the fact that they both bow like grass beneath a hurricane to lobbying interests.

I'll write in Tom Tancredo, the only man in the House of Representatives who dares to speak up against this insane proposal.

I do plan on voting for Tancredo in the primary. I do hope and believe that the Congress will bury this proposal thus pulling GWB's hide out of the fire somewhat.

I don't blame anyone for going 3rd party over this issue. We still have that freedom. I've done it before. I just remember how I got cold feet in 2000. I swore I was going to vote for Buchanon but I realized that the state I live in was up for grabs and just couldn't let it go to Gore so I held my nose and voted for GWB. I have a feeling I'll be doing the same in 2004. If Bush looks like he's going to win in a landslide, I probably do a write-in or vote 3rd Party.

There is alot we can do at the state level to fight illegal immigration. Lets just wait and see what happens in the House. Maybe GWB will get the message.

Don't get me wrong, I do oppose this proposal.

So you give Bush no credit for his success in keeping us safe, his success in the War on Terror, in making the US be respected again in the world, for his taxcuts turning around the economy, for the courage to install Pickering, etc, right?

You don't see any difference between him and Dean, right?

The correct answer is to vote for a third party that espouses individual liberty, adherence to the law (that means no illegals allowed and throw them out), swift retribution to America's enemies, and an end to government largess. I would rather vote for a libertarian, dopey as many of them are, than for the RINO's or Rats.

It is now apparent that a split government is the better choice. A split government would stall this devastating issue. Right now it looks like a vote for having a Republican Congress and a Democrat President. Hopefully this stalemate will stop all incredibly stupid, anti-U.S. legislation, and just might put a lid on current run away spending.

This devastating immigration issue transcends political parties and all other issues. It ranks right below an invasion from Russia or China.

If this immigration thing was brought up well before the closing deadline to run for President, the field might have been different.

What planet is Bush on right now? Well, "read my lips", as a VERY LONG TERM REPUBLICAN I'm not going to vote for him. It now appears he's lost his marbles.

Even after your votes installed Bill Clinton for 8 years, you still haven't learned your lesson, that all a third party candidate vote gets you, is the Democrat.

If you want the Democrat, just come right out and say so, quit pretending to be a conservative.

NO real conservative could prefer the likes of Dean, Kerry, etc. to President Bush.

Speaking for myself, if the Republican controlled congress had more spine and resisted Bush's liberal tendencies then voting for Bush would make some sense. But that is not the case here. At this point I'm all for Gridlock and an end to the Bush Family Dynasty in politics. Seen enough of this family already.

I see plenty of difference between them, but I expect Dean to do things that destroy this country, I expect Bush to do things that build it up.

I've been engaged with my wife's relatives about voting Republican, because Republicans support the issues that they care about, like gun rights, prolife, and low taxes. They answer with the old saw, "Republicans only care about the rich businessmen." It's hard to convince them otherwise when things like this amnesty come up.

On this issue, it makes no difference. All of the comments could have been made by George W. Bush, Republican. No difference anymore between the Dems and the Pubs.
