IT sure is hard to juggle your wife and your girlfriends - just ask billionaire investor George Soros.

The 73-year-old Soros seems to be trying to patch things up with his wife of 20 years, Susan, by spending weekends with her and their two sons at their upstate Bedford estate. But he's also been seeing a string of lovely ladies on the side.

I am part Hungarian-American, and my wife is all Hungarian. There has been a running joke in our household about men from Hungary men being philandering bastards. Mister Soros now adds to a very long personal list of cheating magyar males.

The statement that Hungarians have gypsy blood is simply WRONG. Gypsies are a nomadic people that originate from India. They do not integrate with the community of the country into which they wander. That would be against gypsy culture. Thus, gypsies only marry and/or have offspring with other gypsies. Thus, Hungarians do NOT have gypsy blood. Unfortunately, the success of gypsy musicians in Hungary has inaccurately linked Hungarians with gypsies in the minds of ignorant people.

Of course, we all heard of the Latin lover, e.g., Romanians, the French and Italians. Supposedly in these Latin cultures people are more prone to show emotion and affection which leads to more physical intimacy. So I guess in cultures where less emotion is shown, the men would philander less? Which would be those cultures? The Scandinavian? Jewish men are known to be faithful and loving to their wives. But wait a minute !! Soros is Jewish. Now I'm confused! I conclude that I don't believe that ethnicity has much to do with the rate that men cheat. Money and power are the aphrodisiac.

Let us not indulge in stereotypes. The fact is Hungary has one of the highest divorce rates in Europe.

My theory is that hungarian men cheat as an act of insecure revenge against their woman. Hungarian woman being highly independent, industrious, and opinionated.

I did hear one hungarian man blame cheating on a post-Trianon (1921) partition malaise. Hungary used to be three times its current size.
