Wesley Clark wants to overturn the Pentagon's "don't ask, don't tell" policy and allow open homosexuals to serve in the armed forces, the Democratic presidential candidate says in an exclusive interview with the Advocate.

"The armed forces are the last institution in America that discriminates against people. It ought to be the first that doesn't. They ought to have the right to be who they are. They shouldn't have to conceal their identities," Mr. Clark, a retired Army general, told the magazine.

Hey redlipstick-
I think the Washington Times lurked on that thread where you posted the cover shot of The Advocate.

Hopefully, this will put another nail into the Clarke campaign coffin.

I'm not sure which is more disturbing about that cover photo - that he did it in the first place or that it doesn't look contrived.

".....'interesting'....."

"Revealing" is another word that comes to mind.

THIS, and other statements and positions, say quite a bit.

Is he following the Clintons' advice on this? Saying something so stupid as "it's one of the reasons I'm running" makes one wonder.

Richmond ping.

Have you guys been seeing all the Clark commercials? I haven't seen any for the other candidates yet. The Virginia dem primary is 2/7 (I think) perhaps we should switch our votes to Clark, Mud? Or are you still planning to vote for Sharpton?

LoL. I found it while doing a little opposition research on another forum. They are so politically tone-deaf that they thought it was cool.

Geez...

Reminiscent of the Algore 'Package' enhancement on the Stolling Rone cover.

Or is he going to spend more money building more barracks, showers and bathrooms on base and onboard ships in order to separate the gay from the straight.

Should Clark win the nomination, I'm counting on Gen. Shelton to elaborate on his "integrity and character issues" statement. For the good of the country....

Does anyone have links to the various conspiracy theories he has espoused?

1. That the White House called him on 9/11 to request he go public with the statement that Iraq was behind the attack. He had to retract that and said it was a Canadian think tank in Middle Eastern studies. He had to retract that as well.

2. That the White House got him fired from CNN. (As though CNN would do ANYTHING the White House asked of them). Hah

3. That the White House has plans to invade dozens of countries. As though every administration doesn't PLAN for that in the event of an emergency with that country. AND, as Charles Krauthammer mentioned on FNC one night, hopefully those plans include France.

4. There were a few others but they were so whacky that I can't remember them as I try to rid my mind of such trivia. LOL
