United States President George W. Bush can close his addresses with "God bless." Former President Bill Clinton did the same, as with so many governmental leaders over the years. However, when a high school fellow ended his school broadcast with the two words, he got ousted from broadcasting.
Dupo High School in Belleville, Illinois middle America is the place. James Lord is the seniors name. According to WorldNet Daily, hes suspended for several weeks from broadcasting daily on the closed circuit TV. In his December 17 closing, he said "God bless." That was curtains for James. Out.
"Have a safe and happy holiday, and God bless."
Thats all it took for the principal to shut down James. Inappropriate. That favorite term in education and beyond was used to cut out James from the cameras. Inappropriate for school fare.
And is not that just what we believers have been saying for years? The schools have shut out God, therefore, they are paying with the drug increase, mayhem in classrooms, violence in hallways, sluggish SAT scores, disrespect to teachers from the elementary grades on up? And now Jonathan Heeerboth, principal, caps it once again with Inappropriate.
Congratulations to James for going right ahead with legal counsel to defend his rights. Geoffrey Surtees, lawyer with American Center for Law and Justice, Virginia, has come to his defense. In the meantime, the school board will meet, discussions will ensue, talk will fill up the rooms, James will be kept from the broadcast room, and another generation at that school will be prohibited from being blessed in the name of deity by a fellow student.
Just doesnt make sense when in a Muslim country the Islamic deitys name Allah can be yelled to the rafters yet in the United States of America where God has been considered the nations blesser, deitys name must be absented from the gathering of the young in school.
Stay tuned.

Gee, THAT'LL teach James not to JAM his beliefs down the throats of others!
I'm surprized he isn't serving any time for that 'Hate' speech...

When they close the front doors of the schools to God you can bet that Satan will sneak in the back (and it has!)

And if he would've stated, "God Bless Allah". What would your remarks have been then, Ted.

Better than that, JustPlainJoe. How about when those plains went screaming into the Twin Towers in the name of Allah. I wonder if they were cramming their beliefs down our throat. Just a thought.

I wonder what would happen if he said "God dammit" (sorry).
To: writer33
Of course, the ACLU would have NO problem with addressing Allah! He may even received a standing 'O' for that.
But, Allah forbid he utter the name of that supreme being who isn't Allah, Buddah, Mohammmed, etc...
What a bunch of goofs, ehh?
To: JustPlainJoe
That's true. We can't have religion, unless of course its other than Christianity, in our schools.

Exactly! Sorry if I was vague, but I was being sarcastic on my first post. I love making fun of the classic idiot liberal responses to things like this...
To: writer33
"God bless" what or whom? And, why should He?
America, bless God. It's long overdue.

All would probably have been forgiven. Or better than that. Allah dammit.

*sighs dismally* Nothing new here... Christianity removed from the younger generation(s), claiming it the pain of the world and inappropriate for their fragile minds (Never mind that it's the way they teach them that makes them so damn "fragile"). I could yawn, if I wasn't so displeased.
God, I need to read something lighthearted.

"Sneak"? Satan didn't sneak in a back door--he enters with his friends who ban God. It is the ultimate sign of an all powerful God having designed the universe that you MUST serve someone NO ONE has the option to opt out.
It is not possible.

Go to Bush Country and find the piece. The author should have some contact information. He'd be able to fill you in on the details.

Go down and find a post by me titled, Rush Limbaugh. That's light and positive. You should enjoy that one.

There's a simple solution here.
Just close every broadcast by playing a recorded Red Skelton comedy bit and then end with him giving his classic close.
In case you're not that old, it was "Good night and God Bless"
