If I'm not mistaken, the people Stalin deliberately starved to death in the Ukraine were lumped in with the war casualties, too.

Hah, not bad. What's even funnier are the joking responses by various freepers who are pretending to think this is serious.. ahem...

I recall the commie-dems total shock at the "new tactic" of President Bush "doing what he promised in the campane." Yep, they actually saw it as a "tactic."

The commie-dems are SOOO whacked out these days I was to the second paragraph before my jaded and guarded nature whispered to me , Onion.....

If Hitler had ignored the Russian threat for about 3-4 more weeks, he would have broken England, and we would have had nowhere to stage our troops for D-Day. And if Japan had not attacked Pearl Harbor, the Deaniacs of the day would have had us ignore them. Then, he could have taken Russia at his leisure. And would have. He would have had to split a chunk with Japan, but they would have controlled basically Asia, Africa and Europe. We would have had North America still divided. Germany and Japan would have fought. And who knows who would have won at that point. And we would be subject to whomever came out on top. Two mistakes by the Axis forces and they could have had it all. Thank God that mistakes happen.

Joan Blades, co-founder of Moveon.org, a holdover from the hippie-era original Human Be-In of 1967:

DIGITAL BE-IN 12

Report by Mark Glaser Photos by Amy Carr

A few hundred "New Edge" types, some holdovers from the hippie-era original Human Be-In of 1967, others curious consciousness-raised ravers, came from near and far for the 12th Digital Be-In in San Francisco’s SoMa district. The theme was media revolution, the ambient mood was nightclub and a feast of video projections and decorations. Photo: From left to right: Joan Blades, Rose Aguilar and Malcolm CasSelle.

Joan Blades of MoveOn.org took the mic next, explaining how her grass-roots online organization had tapped 500,000 disaffected voters during the Clinton impeachment campaign. "We tried to do our best to help these people connect to politicians," she said, "and now we’re focusing on campaign finance reform." MoveOn tries to help people who are busy get involved in local and national politics.

“Free Republic has finally gone over the line,” said MoveOn spokeswoman Gloria Harper. “The despicable notion of comparing a leader to his actual record is beyond reprehensible – it’s nauseating, alarming, and quite frankly, dirty pool.”

This has to be the most unintelligent comment I have heard in weeks. The folly of comparing someone to their actual record. The horror of it all.
We’re not going to live in the past,” said one MoveOn supporter who asked only to be identified as “Madonna”. “The Chinese are in the middle of an energy crisis. How will they find the fuel to support their manufacturing industry and the complete and utter destruction of Taiwan? Why should we keep such secrets?”

And where does this complete idiot get her facts? The chinese in an energy crisis? This is a new one on me. Even if that were the case, it does not excuse the treason committed by the Klintonistas.

I've found that it's a good idea to(too) read through a few comments before I decide to(too) post anything.
Usually, someone else has already replied with something very similar to(too) what I've planned to(too) post.
I'm not here to(too) scold anyone. It's for your(you're) own good, eh.

MoveOn spokeswoman Gloria Harper.

Is that Gloria "The Harpy" Harper, who used to play linebacker for the Bengals?

Using <img width=999 height=999 src="http://yada.yada.com/name.jpg"> is better for those with a slower connection. If the browser knows the size, it can paint the page quicker. You can find out the information by right clicking on the image and selecting properties before you post.

Actually, having the width and height given SLOWS the paint speed!

The true H&W are found in the header info when the picture first starts to load, and the BROWSER uses that to fill in the screen. If H&W are given that are NOT the same as the orginal, the BROWSER has to CALCULATE all the screen pixels on the fly as it is painting your screen.

Well, this was certainly nice to see--if only because it exposed some of the clueless on FR who took it seriesly.
