Every one of these women has convinced herself that pregnancy was something caught like a cold and couldn't have been avoided.

Something to be cured.

If these people think that these revelations somehow exhonerates them, they could not be more WRONG.

When I asked if that made her pro-choice, she said, "You don't ever ask an intelligent person that question, do you?

What an elitist statement! I feel ill after reading this, and I couldn't even finish it. If these women's lives would have been so horribly disrupted by having a child, there is always adoption!

It doesn't sound to me like any of them are really "glad" they had abortions. Did you notice that almost all of them said they didn't remember much about the procedure? This is truly horrifying.

I agree. This motivated me to become more active in the pro life movement.

You probably raised your risk for breast cancer too.

"I didn't consider it sinful," she says matter-of-factly. "It was my body, and I do what I please with my body."

HER body?

Did anyone else notice the common themes throughout these stories?

- Multiple marriages
- Multiple divorces
- Multiple abortions

Huh.

Susan Yolen, vice president for public affairs of Planned Parenthood of Connecticut, agrees that publicizing these stories is the best inoculation against the shame many women feel about having had abortions.

Shame is the way your heart tells the brain that you did something wrong.

"If someone wants to think I'm a sinful bitch, I don't give a damn," (Jennifer Baumgardner's mother-in-law) said.

It's quite obvious you don't give a damn; you murdered three of your children and now you and your daughter are bragging about it.

"I have no regrets," she says. "One of the reasons I was not going to have a child was the memory of my mother, who gave up her very intelligent life to raise three children. I was not willing to give up my life to have children."

I'm sorry that her mother had to give up "a very intelligent life" to raise this immoral selfish bitch.

What amazes me is that these same women are probably protesting Iraq because "violence is not the answer".

That's right. Someone once said that peace begins in the womb. I wish they could understand that.

Still, she feels grateful. Her life would have turned out vastly different if she'd become a mother at 19. "I probably would have ended up living at home with the baby and not fulfilling any of my dreams or goals," she said. "Or worse, I would have ended up in a homeless shelter. It wouldn't have been fair to me or the child."

Pardon me while I vomit uncontrollably.

I rarely posts to abortion threads, but...

She wasn't interested in having a child with a philandering alcoholic...

But it's OK to bang one?!

I'm getting physically sick after reading this. This is incredible. How can they believe that normal, responsible people can read this selfish trash and not be even more determined to fight for the sanctity of life?

Such a statement should disqualify her from the practice of medicine... can't tell one person's body from another!

BINGO!!!! I've been wondering that very thing. It's not as if you sit around at a dinner party, and the men talk about their knee surgeries and the women talk about their abortions. If it were such a good thing, and so many women have had them and NOT regretted it, why DON'T people talk about it casually? I know the answer- it's NOT simple, it's NOT a quick solution,.... it's NOT just a blob of tissue.

Yup. There's a pretty high incidence of women having more than one abortion once they've had the first. Marriages and divorces are a no-brainer, too. Relationships don't do well after aborting a child- one of the parents catches on to what was done, if they hadn't in the first place...

Change title of article to : "I had a Mother"

They make it sound like, "I had a V-8". Just another all consuming act executed (literally) by self consumed people. '.... and there was no light in them.'
