I hope those outsource people speak English.

Heck, according to another thread, 30% of the people living HERE don't speak English.

No I think that was the first photo.

Look at the second and third photos. When you compare where the shadow is, you see the shadow moving from right to the left in comparison to the larger crater with the bright ring around it.

Therefore, the vehicle is to the left of the shadow in the last photo. It probably rolled a bit and then landed farther to the west by a few hundred feet.

Doesn't that large crater look pretty flat on bottom?

At the bottom of it it looks like a reflection of the surrounding ridge.

Water and/or ice perhaps?

Top picture was taken at 1986 meters (right click on pix, go to properties and look at title of pix.)
Center picture was taken at 1690 meters.
bottom pix was taken at 1404 meters.

The shadow movement clearly shows that the lander is moving to the left of the big crater.

"The wall incline of the small crater where Opportunity now rest won't pose a problem to climb out of according to rover specs unless the soil properties present special problems with traction.

Do they have 'mud' tires with them, lol.

Re: Gopher hole in the fairway.

Out of the lab
onto the lanch pad
up to Mach6
past the moon
through sun flares
across Millions of miles
and millions more
jetison the cruise stage
turn to entry burn
skip through the martian stratosphere
deploy the parachute
inflate the air bags
fire the rockets
cut the cable
into the gopher hole next to the sand trap.

Nuthin but net.
