do you apply the same reasoning to the Kennedy's?

That no family is perfect? Sure.

As far as the Bush family goes, those holding public office seem to be okay so far. That's what I care about.

I see from your profile page that you have difficulty with President Bush in general - so it's no surprise that you would be hoping for "secrets" to emerge.

Neil & his antics could be the reason we need $1.5 billion for the defense of marriage.

Look at Bush I and II wives, are they not the picture perfect conservatives?

If you are referring to Barbara and Laura, then I would disagree. Barbara Bush is liberal on some issues (such as abortion), and Laura Bush is best described as a moderate.

"In the meantime, he has been ordered to pay $1,500 a month in child support for two of his children, Pierce, 17 and Ashley, 14. The couple's oldest child, Lauren, is 19." And the Child Support Shakedown continues...

Gee, $1500/month for two minor children for someone of Bush's wealth doesn't seem like a shakedown to me.

I admit I skimmed this, then clicked the link to make sure it was from today.

Any idea what brought this on today? It's all old news except for a proposal issued "last month".

Or did I miss some "new news" happening yesterday or today?

Oh, please! Secrets, secrets, what dirt can you dig up on the Republican enemy?

The secrets are that politics don't always allow for good family relationships. I think that you will find an inordinate number of dysfunctional families on both side of the political aisle. Some of the progeny survive this test of parental absence (mental and physical) and even thrive, others do not.

"He had sex with women who showed up uninvited at his hotel rooms in Asia."

Riiiiiiight. And the money they took upon leaving just happened to be lying there on the dresser.

The implication hinted at in the article is that some "mysterious benefactor" paid for the women in advance. Instead of sending flowers or fruitbaskets, as is customary in the business world, these "mysterious benefactors" send women to your hotel room.

The other half of the Rapist's marriage of convenience has, as we know, two siblings, Tony and Hugh. (They're a great comedy team, btw.)

Hazelnuts, anybody?

The Rodhams, Back in Georgia

Despite assurances last September that they would withdraw from an embarrassing business venture that involved harvesting hazelnuts in the former Soviet republic of Georgia, the first lady's brothers, Hugh and Tony Rodham, were back in the Georgian port city of Batumi this month.

Local media reported their journey as if it were a traveling carnival. "Hillary's Interesting Brothers in Istanbul," read the headline in the Dec. 8 edition of the Turkish daily Hurriyet. A photo showed the two beefy brothers, dressed in blue jeans and sneakers, en route to Batumi. "Hazelnut Tycoons," joked the photo caption.

The rambling Rodhams spent several days in Batumi, according to local press reports, "in hopes of reviving a failed deal to . . . sell hazelnuts" through a company called Argo Holdings. A Russian-American newsletter called Intercon's Daily quoted the local political boss in Batumi, Aslan Abashidze, touting their return.

~snip~

Is Neil Bush running for elected office? If not, how did the AP get his tax returns?

Hmmmm. Good question. And why this story now? What's new? #3Fan thinks it's political, "the left goes after Neil." I have a different theory.

I think Sharon Bush is behind it all. She released the info about the Asian girls and the tax return. She's probably mad that Neil Bush left her after she spent 23 years with him. And left only $18,000 child support. Obviously she's a money-grubber. Want's to stick it to him.

Maybe true... However, do not both parties have to agree for the publisher to avoid legal liability?

Perhaps the AP wants to take some more pressure off Howeird Dean and get the pundits to go after Dubya...

this is hardly the first time neil has humiliated sharon and his children, as far as i'm concerned he lucked out with the $1500 a month child support.

would you buy a used car from this man? he's repulsive, and that's one reason he's never seen at bush family functions.
