Girls are not bored to death by Rick Lazio.

Not clear which venue he will be pursue -- radio or TV. Wish the writer was a bit more forthcoming unless I'm missing something here.

Let's hope he never gets interviewed by George Stephanopolous. The two vapid posers on the same screen would make me hurl.
What a pair of male models who were clearly out of their league being in politics.

Loozio was a lightweight. I saw him campaigning on a couple of occasions and he was awful. Hillary, on the other hand, was a natural when I saw her work crowds in the city.
I wish him the best of luck in this new venture. The "Lawn Guyland" accent may not work if he wants to go nationwide, however.

I still think he was an improvement over Tom "Closet Boy" Downey, the man who Lazio replaced in congress. Steve Israel, who currently represent's Rick's old district, is even worse than closet boy.

I know a little about Steve Israel, but have to plead ignorance on Tom "Closet Boy" Downey.
I'm just glad that Peter King wasn't the one who tried to fill Giuliani's shoes during the 2000 NY Senate race. I'd have a hard time rushing down to Manhattan to support him. I think Lazio's last ACU rating as a Congressman was 66%. Far better rating than any Congressman/woman we have up here in Connecticut!

I am not a fan of Lazio, but you obviously are unfamiliar with the political dynamics of this state. It was advantage Hillary from the get-go. Even if Rudy would have run, it would have been a difficult race (that was before 9/11, when Giuliani became the media's favorite Republican).

Tom Downey was swept into congress in 1974 as part of the anti-Republican Watergate backlash that occurred that year. He was only about 26 years old at the time and campaigned as being anti-corruption yet socially conservative. He was one of those "talk centrist, vote leftist" type polticos so common in swing suburban districts.
He was also rumored to be homosexual and according to some sources, had a crush on Al Gore (he was an advisor on Gore's 2000 campaign).

So his checks weren't the only things that were bouncing?
