You are right of course, there is none so blind as those who will not see. The partial birth abortion ban, have you read it? It's nothing more than a manual on how to perform a federaly sanctioned partial birth abortion.
It really doesn't matter if Bush walks on water, all of the above is temporary and worthless if he is allowed to sign us up to the FTAA treaty, have you read it? And if he is allowed to push a permanent state of socialism on the nation by, in effect, dissolving our borders and giving the demonrats 12 million new voters like Reagan did in 1986 by giving the demonrats a new 3 million strong voting block over night.

You have unwittingly proved the very point you have tried to refute by showing how often he has expanded the size of the government and pushed to remove power from the states through various actions.
And why is it that I see no mention of his support of the Patriot Act or campaing finance reform? Oh wait, I know why. Because that didn't help conservatives or the Constitution.

Has CONSTRUCTION in process on the first 10 ABM silos in Alaska so that America will have a defense against North Korean nukes. Has ordered national and theater ballistic missile defenses to be deployed by 2004. You got a link to a source for this one? I haven't heard about/wasn't aware of this one.

Is government larger or smaller since Bush took office? Are there more laws and regulations affecting my life, and the choices I make, or less? Are there more government agencies or less? Are there more cabinet level departments or less? Is there more government surveilance of my activities or less? Is the Federal deficit larger of smaller? Is overall spending by the Federal government up or down? Is the Federal government more involved in the control of the banking and financial systems or less? Do I have more freedom, more liberty, or less? How many government programs have been abolished? Are question like these considered conservative any more? Has conservatism really only become a debate about the nature and administration of socialist programs?

I'm already laughing because you included "Medicare Reform" as an accomplishment. That's just denial of reality.

If President Clinton would have spent money like President Bush, and even suggested amnesty for literally millions that have broken our laws, every single Republican on this board would be coming unglued, mocking him, calling for his head, impeachment, etc, etc. This is painfully clear to all that are honest with themselves.
They hypocrisy between these two beltway parties is really sickening in my opinion.

There are none so blind as those who REFUSE to see. You know, this is a pretty comprehensive list; and one I haven't seen before. I've been pretty critical of the prez on this board...but I must say, all things considered; GWB's record is pretty impressive given all that has happened in the last 3 years, and coming off 8 years of Clinton. His record actually puts his dad's to shame. I will no longer claim that GWB is not conservative enough, I'll cut him slack on immigration, medicare, and spending with the hope that House and Senate Republicans will do their duty...if not now...then eventually. I also realize that 50+ years of liberalism takes time to reverse, one administration cannot turn the tide in 4 or 8 years. Let me also extend an apology to all the "bots" I've sparred with impolitely. While I still will not consider myself a "bot" I can admit when I'm wrong, and when I haven't seen the whole picture. And yes...I am being series.

I expect we can see a lot of rationalizations like this on FR for our spend-thrift, pro-affirmative action, pro-Medicare socialization, pro-farm subsidy, pro-campaign reform president as the election draws neare
To: Wolfstar; Southack
You have listed several real accomplishments, but the fact that you consider No Child Left Behind, Jobs for the 21st Century, and scores of misguided grant programs to be "accomplishments" does not give you credibility as a conservative.
Don't forget one of the most important accomplishments right now: a $500 billion deficit, thanks mostly to new, wasteful social spending this president--not his predecessor--has initiated.
