ZOT!!! The Congressman Who Cried Wolf

The Congressman Who Cried Wolf

Every red-blooded American has heard of the little boy who cried wolf. It’s a story of a young shepherd who used the people’s fear of wolves to get attention. He cried wolf when there was none and laughed as the people scurried to stop an imagined threat. Congressman Bob Ney is like this little shepherd.

Congressman Ney was quoted in an article entitled “Terrorists plan DC Fund Raiser” in “The Hill” magazine. His accusations implied an Al-Quida like front group was planning the destruction of the American way of life right under our noses. He is crying wolf to be sure.

I attended the event to get an up close look at these horrible terrorist and defend my countries honor if need be. Every participant and speaker seemed to respect the war on terror but did not agree that the MEK should be on the list of terrorist organizations. They have worked hard within the system to correct what they believe is wrong. After hearing what these speakers had to say, Bob Ney’s campaign reminded me of Senator Joe McCarthy and his destructive witch-hunt for communists.

But McCarthy was working for the United States and his ideological zealotry was founded in the correct assertion that personal liberty and a free market economy are what we are fighting for. Joe McCarthy’s war was for the right reason but I tend to disagree with witch-hunt tactics. Bob Ney on the other hand is not an ideological zealot and although he represents the people of Ohio, he is not working for them. He is a man on a mission to build a relationship with America’s number one enemy in the war on terror, Iran.

Sources suggest Ney’s relationship with Iran goes beyond his ability to speak Farsi. Ney has met with several high-ranking officials in the Islamic Republic of Iran and his staff regularly travels to and from Iran. “Not all of congressman Ney’s staff are citizens of the United States and a link to the Iranian government is apparent” said one US official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Ney has gone out on a limb for his friends in Tehran. If Ney had hoped to shut the event down, he could not. If Ney was trying to catch a slick bunch of terrorist, he blew any element of surprise. Ney’s official responsibilities have nothing to do with foreign affairs so why is he in the press requesting investigations into terrorism. I suppose only John Ashcroft can answer that.

What do you think about Ney shielding the Iranian regime from Iranian Americans who want a regime change?

Signed up today to post this, eh? Nice little dig at Ashcroft at the end -- completely unrelated to the pointless rambling of the rest of the article. Welcome to FR I suppose. I guess your contributions to the discussions on this and other threads will indicate whether you are here as a participant or just a troll.

This thread has the ad for that fundraiser for Bam and regime change in Iran. Two worthy causes, but as we know sometimes worthy sounding causes are not what they seem.

I notice that the iran-solidarity.org domain, which was the website of the group hosting that fundraiser, is registered to the same guy who resistered the domain for the political arm of Rajavi's group, and the same guy who registered a website for Rajavi's defense (awfully similar to the Free Mumia websites).

Not only did the same guy register all of them, they all are hosted on the exact same machine.

People can read all about Rajavi's group here. A leftist cult that is on the terrorist organization list published by the State Department.

Focus

Keep the faith and hang in there,
We need you, don’t lose sight.
Your support and yes your vote,
Will make this come out right.
It’s early yet but time moves fast,
So please don’t wait too long.
Let’s pull together once again,
To make our country strong.
Kerry, Clark, or Howard Dean,
Who knows which one will be.
The one the democrats will pick,
To be their nominee.
The lucky winner gets to run,
A race he cannot win.
Yes come November Oh Oh Four,
George Bush it is again!

The Freepers who post often in support of the regime change movement in Iran are unanimous in their repudiation of the MEK.

Thanks for all the welcome notes - I've been reading FR for some time and have wanted to join up and say something but didn't feel inspired until now.

The event was seriously pro Rajavi - No question about it - It was not cult like at all, Richard Perle spoke, you know the guy, wrote "an end to evil, how to win the war on terror".

This event hosted 5000 people and was calling for regime cange in Iran. There was a pro shah poet there who is calling for action.

Bob Ney tried to shut it down and that pisses me off.

To be on the list of terrorist does not suggest we should stop paying attention to what they have to say. Read what Hezbolah has to say - they expose their idiocy in seconds. Listen to what was said at this event and you aren't likely to say these people support a terrorist cult.

that is just funny.

My interest in the story comes from the NCR exposing Iran's nuclear secrets. What have they gotten for sparking the IAEA investigations? Nothing but crap from people like Ney.

A poem for you:

You came here to troll,
And you acted like a mole
You may think it's funny,
But you owe JimRob some money
Before you crawl back to your hole.

Ney is my Congressman, and I had never before heard of him trying to protect the Iranian theocratic regime. This assertion comes as a bit of a shock, but if it is true it should be exposed. If you have any more on this aspect of Ney's activities please let me know.

. “Not all of congressman Ney’s staff are citizens of the United States and a link to the Iranian government is apparent” said one US official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Considering you wrote this "article" yourself, the least you could do is not pretend to be a journalist and use phrases like "spoke on condition of anonymity." It just makes it obvious you made up the whole allegation.

So basically your point is that they put on a pretty face for you at that event, so no one should point out who they are or what they are about.

Sorry, I am not into that. Sinn Fein can appear reasonable at their fundraisers as well. It doesn't change the fact that they are reprehensible.
